Yeti, perhaps I didn't phrase this correctly. The two psychologists that I have worked FOR are mentally stable.

The two psychiatrists that I've known personally were unstable. They both committed suicide.

I have a little dog who loves to chase a tennis ball so much he ran right smack into a wall, headfirst. Did some damage to his neck, and one leg was temporarily paralyzed. Of course, I took him directly to the vet, and he was again in fine tennis-ball-chasing form in a week or so. But NO nosebleed. And this was a pretty hard lick.

How would you describe your opinion that one or both Van Dams are child molesters? Is that slander as well?

Just exactly WHERE did s/he say either/both of the Van Dams are child molesters? Not saying it was NOT said, I would just like to see it for myself.

If she/he considers that to be "slander" I question their fitness for working with abused kids even more.

I guess calling someone with no proof whatever a "sociopathic, dog abusing, child abusing, child molesting sleazeball" is in some way acceptable in the world of those who take in abused kids in their homes. Let's hope their Salem Witch Trial attitudes don't rub off on these kids that have already had so much trouble in their lives.

No, I am not a doctor, but I have had some experience with abused children and child abusers.

Years ago, because of an involvement with a neighborhood child, I became involved with Fl HRS and was licensed as an emergency shelter. There were over 150 children that went through the doors of my home. I took all the classes and seminars that were available to me as a foster parent to learn recognition and treatment for child abuse. Unfortunately that position comes with interactions with the abusers also.

When I read the exerts from Danielle's diary it gave me chills because it is so typical of an extremely abused child.

I use to have one of those "safe places" that children were sent to.

Of all the children that I kept, and a lot of them were delinquints with records, there was only one child that I asked be removed from my home. That particular child was a 14 yr old boy that had a sadistic nature, there was an evil in his mind and heart that caused him to enjoy cruelty to animals, (psychological reports do show cruelty to animals without remorse is the tell tale sign of a sociapathic personality) and other children. At the same time one of my children was a 12 yr old girl in a wheelchair, (she had been born with cerebral palsy) she became the victim that the sociapathic child loved to terrorize. That was reason I asked for him to be removed.

It is only my opinion, but my observations about the principles in the VanDam case lead me to believe the wrong person is on trial.

I don't know if Danielle was abused or not. None of us do to a certainty. I do believe she was a neglected child, at the very least. The one thing that bothers me the most about this case is this: Who knows exactly WHEN WHATEVER happened to Danielle? Damon was alone with her (and the boys) from, when, 8:30 (don't hold me to this) Friday night? We only have Damon's word for anything that happened, or did not happen, that night. Nobody else saw her after that time. Nobody REALLY knows what happened to her, or when it happened to her. They didn't even check on her until approximately 9:00 the next morning. That's an awfully long period of time. Anything, and I do mean ANYTHING, could have happened in 12 hours.

Sorry, I just don't buy it that Westerfield was the only possible suspect in this case. It stinks to high Heaven.

Oh great we don't know who abused her but coincidentally the Van Dam's are "sociopaths" as well....Glad we are getting this all cleared up by "those in the know".

Okay, Kim. Not going back to check it, I'll take your word for it. I don't know what he might or might not have done to Danielle, but the story about the dog running into his leg hard enough to get a nosebleed is suspicious, to say the least. And I have no doubt that you are intelligent enough to know what people who should know what they are talking about say about animal abusers. (What a mangled sentence, but I'm sure you get my drift. The point is not whether you think Westerfield is guilty or innocent, but how you respond to people with opposing opinions.

The post was directed to you because I thought you were one of the people that mentioned the book by Scott Peck. If you are not then please forgive my indiscretion.

As far as the one hair that was found in Westerfield's motor home, the so called dna evidence, (not enough markers for conclusive proof) and the fingerprint, there are several explanations in my mind. Keep in mind that her dogs hair was supposed to be in this motor home also, even though the dog was not taken.

If the motor home was unlocked, Danielle could have went into it to play, or to hide from someone that was abusing her or the dog. The last entry in her diary said: "I am dreaming of a safe place"

The evidence could have been planted.

Westerfield could have had a sexual experience with Brenda Van Dam in the motor home.

I don't recall any evidence that W tried to get into the swinging group and was rejected, only BVD's word that W asked her to introduce/fix him up with her friend.

The expert that testified about what was on the computer admited that a lot of these sites and downloads were done when W was known NOT to be in the house, he was already under surveilance at the time. READ THE TRANSCRIPTS.

If hanging out at Dad's is evidence of murder, there are still a lot of people yet to prosecute and "hang".

The evidence about the dog was brought up because the VD's claimed the dog bled so bad that it ruined the dog bed which was their reason for throwing it away. I cannot remember which thread or who posted it, (probably our much missed Fresno) but BVD also admited the dog was "somewhat neglected".

The dog bed was thrown away cuz the dog chewed it up..

I've not heard anything about bvd saying the dog was neglected so I'd have to read that..
