I’ve never had a Big Mac and can’t remember the last time I went to a McDonalds.
I worked at the 2nd McDonald's in Maine back around 1965-'66. The Big Mac didn't exist yet but the hamburger was $0.13 and a cheeseburger was $0.15.
I agree it’s no fun to cook for one. But that is one sad menu. I feel bad for you. Can’t you squeeze in a few fresh veggies? They cook in the microwave in just a few minutes. Use paper bowls to save on cleanup.
2 for $6 or no deal.
Has the proice of Alpo risen accordingly?
Do they still offer the fish sandwich? There was a limited menu during Covid and I don’t think fish was offered.
IMO Wendy’s and Burger King are better.
Time to raise the minimum wage to 50.00 hr.
When 2 gal of gas were 49 cents, quarters were silver. About 8.50 today.
The other day I stopped at BK and got a small fry, double bacon cheeseburger and small coke. I was shocked at what all that cost.
Ha!!
I remember working and McDonalds in the mid 60s. You could get a cheeseburger, fries and a coke for 40 cents plus tax...
It’s somewhat inaccurate to say that the price of a Big Mac is $6 or more. That’s kind of like what we used to call “sticker price” for cars (i.e., a nominal price that only the least savvy of car buyers actually pay).
As mentioned, most McDonalds are usually shooting a 2 for $6 deal. Also, I order the McD app, and the app regularly offers a buy-one-get-one-for-25-cents deal. Thus some buyers effectively getting Big Macs for $3, $3.25 or similar. If you took the average of what American buyer of Big Macs are paying, you might get $4.50 or something, substantially less than $6.
Now costs 40% more.
Not if you don’t buy it.
Big Mac has ALWAYS been overpriced, but people keep paying
Lol. That glop has gotten really bad. A big Mac just isn’t what it used to be.
Most disgusting burger I had was from Jack’s - just awful.
Their cost for one sesame seed bun is way off, but overall, interesting. I make Mac’s at home with non-sesame buns anyway, lol.
A typical Bad Daddy’s order for just myself which is a basic burger and fries/rings or tots runs about that.
Every now and then I went for a peanut butter and chocolate shake.
The place is almost walking distance from me and has a decent selection of gluten free stuff.
I am going to add some more stuff...microw veggies for sure. Add some fresh fruit.. And its not like I will NEVER cook..thins weekend a meatloaf dinner for Mom who is coming over. One good thing about eating once a day....when you finally do eat, just about anything seems real delicious so its a low bar LOL!
