If you are ham radio operator, maybe it’s just really fast CW, maybe if we recorded it and slowed the sound down maybe someone could make sense of it.
Or
Perhaps it’s nothing, who knows.

That burst of light was a Chinese rocket exploding in flight.

“Just” 4,000 light years away?
To: algore
OMG! Only 4, 000 light years away!?
I’m never going to sleep again. I am filled with worry!
To: algore
OH NO!
1 minute = 60 seconds
1 hour = 3,600 seconds
1 day = 86,400 seconds
1 year = 31,536,000 seconds (for simplicity, 365 days)
4000 years = 126,144,000,000 seconds
Speed of light = 186,000 miles per second
That’s only 23,462,784,000,000,000 miles away!

4000 light years.
To put it in perspective:
Alpha Centauri is 4.4 light years away.
Betelgeuse is 500.
Super bright Rigel is the furthest thing I can think of that we can easily see; it is 1600 light years away.
But I am glad this thing is pretty far away.

Magnetars are about the most dangerous objects we know of next to Whoopi and her friends.

That burst of energy occurred about the time the Egyptians were building pyramids.

Can’t this energy be captured and stored so as to satisfy the anti fossil fuel crowd?
