The left is hell-bent on drug legalization. It started with cannabis, but it will not end with cannabis. I know that they have libertarian allies on the right (including some here on FR), but as I walk down the street in San Francisco, passing through clouds of pot smoke at all hours of the day and stepping past the fetanyl addicts passed out on the sidewalk, I question whether a society of recreational drug enthusiasts is the sort of society that’s sustainable. IMO, there’s a reason that Soros et al. push drug legalization. Who’s likely to resist all of the crap? Someone who’s stoned and stupid and constantly chasing the next high? I don’t think so.

I had a friend in New York in the eighties, he did the same thing. Master’s educated and worked for the city schools administration. Every summer he went upstate somewhere and did heroin all summer then stopped and came back and went to work. He ultimately died from AIDS, Also a black male.
