Actually it was there in 1982 as well.

This Safeway would not be in the Baltimore Sun, more likely in the Washington Post since it is in Montgomery County.

Nicely done. From the article
Castleberry said the Potomac Village Safeway has "wanted to expand almost from the time we came in there in 1968.

Agree, it appears she’s read Judge’s book. Isn’t the book fiction?
If it is a fictional account, Judge had no reason to be concerned as to whether or not it was a Safeway or some other store, or even what year he worked there - if he actually did.
None of those things would matter in the scheme of a fictional account, even if based on his life.
However, Ford seemed to be sending out a plea for someone to find that specific info for her.

nuch ado about nothing mark judge can tell where he worked and when..it does not corroborate chrissies story only possible timeline and in fact if she talked to him indicates he was not part of the incident. fbi needs to ask chrissie if she read judge book..or bought it...

Minor note about store names. Even if a store changes it’s name, one still calls it by the name one first knew it. Kind of like a habit. Although our local store is “Tops” we still refer to it as “Grand Union”
If that store became a Safeway in 1986, ffford would have mentioned the name used in 1982.

Yeah ford did testify that. So if Judge was 12 at the time, could he have a job at Safeway? Maybe a paper route. I seem to recall 16 being the age to work for kids.

My bad.
I got it backwards.
Must be why my sister and her graphics department for the company moved to Boise, from San Fran.
She was with Safeway before the merger

Thank you. I hate seeing disinformation being spread here. It discredits FR and is so unnecessary to make the case that Ford was not assaulted by Kavanaugh.

She also said she called someone on a cell phone.
Can you cite the source for that? I saw it said as a sarcastic speculation on how she got home - not from her.

No no no. It was a change in ownership to KKR in 1986. This is false. It was indeed a branded Safeway n 1982.
What is KKR? I lived in Gaithersburg from July 1987 to July 1989. I shopped at that Safeway. The two majors were Giant and Safeway.

Safeway owns Alberstons, but many of the stores remain under that original name Safeway bought Albertsons last year.

But in her Senate testimony she said the polygraph took hours and they asked her all kinds of questions. Apparently they only turned the machine on for two questions.

What was there before?
[To make sure the building as not just rebuilt or it was not a grocery store under a different name then.]
