The Civil War is about to loom very large in the popular memory. We would do well to be candid about its causes and not allow the distortions of contemporary politics or long-standing myths to cloud our understanding of why the nation fell apart.
The coming year will mark the 150th anniversary of the onset of the conflict, which is usually dated to April 12, 1861, when Confederate batteries opened fire at 4:30 a.m. on federal troops occupying Fort Sumter. Union forces surrendered the next day, after 34 hours of shelling.

Try again? Suit yourself, ignore the truth when it runs contrary to your narrow agenda. All that does is illustrate your lack of honesty or sincerity.Strike one (two more and you're out)! Are you supportive of the homosexual agenda?

I've posted a total of 1,358 threads and 19,683 replies on FR. Look up some old threads from '02-'05 if you want an answer. It's apropos that you'd be able to so readily produce some meaningless personal posting data in response, but are somehow unable to summmon a couple of sentences to defend one of the organizing principles of the southern confederacy.
I participated on those ACW threads in 02-05 and IIRC, there wasn't much substance to your writing then either.
Cheers.

45 ACP. Amazing! Something else we agree on.
I like wheel guns and have a few but I usually carry a H&K USP Tactical or my Kimber Covert II for self defense. They're both very reliable semi's and, since I reload, I've found the bullet type and seating depth that makes them happy time after time.

Well can you point me to one of those or can "one of you guys" help you in finding one. Pick a thread and start reading it. Are you one of those left wing libtards that wants everything handed to you?
BTW. I am not sure what one of "you guys" means.
"You're either with us, or against us."--GW Bush
Not that there is anything wrong with that. ;~))
Would you care to clarify that, please?

"What is a bit unsettling is the thought that you may wish to practice what you believe....since you believe, apparently, that offing a president whom you vehemently disagree with is a good idea and so long as good Southern (Confederate) lead isnt wasted in the process."--thumper1960 The above is precisely the kind of baiting that convinces me that you, thumper, or others (specifically rockrr, mikefromohio, trumandogz) work for .gov. There's nothing more that this left wing radical government would love to do than to arrest a conservative on some trumped up charge of plotting to assassinate a government official and maybe even shut down a conservative website or more in the process.
You guys do this all the damn time and you need to stop it. I've never, ever read a single post on FR where anybody advocated the assassination of a sitting president. If you have, please post the link and alert the mods.
If not, you need to quit this low browed tactic, unless you actually do work for .gov and, if you do, you should admit it and state which agency and your intentions.

Actually pokie led off with #319, but dont let that stop you from a good spin. That's weak punk, really weak.
While we're on the subject of post #319, which Southern state, of the three you claim, were you actually born and raised in.
And something else I've found interesting about you, in addition to having been incredibly born and raised in three Southern states:
Ive been in all 57 states < ;-) > at one time or another and IMO theres something neat to be found in all of them. I never particularly enjoyed summers in New Orleans or winters in Minneapolis but could still find beautiful scenery everywhere I go.
Maybe thats why Im so reluctant to see it carved up...

Hey Spike, I mean Mike, here’s a son of the South performing a song about you:

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers — Spike (live 1985)
Oh, we got another one, just like the other ones
Another bad ass, another trouble-maker
I’m scared, ain’t you boys scared?
I wonder if he’s gonna show us what bad is?
Boys, we got a man with a dog collar on
You think we oughta throw ol’ Spike a bone?
Lady mstar - Notice he introduces the “Rebelettes” in this one:)

“It’s apropos that you’d be able to so readily produce some meaningless personal posting data in response, but are somehow unable to summmon a couple of sentences to defend one of the organizing principles of the southern confederacy.”
Yes, that is interesting.
And what is even more interesting is that every Patriotic American is proud of the words on the Declaration of Independence and every Patriotic Confederate Apologist is proud of the Declarations of Secession issued by South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi and Texas.
However, for some reason, those Patriotic Confederate Revisionists are somehow unable to explain how those founding documents of the Confederacy are somehow about States’ Rights and not slavery.
And I admit, that would be hard to explain since those documents mention “slavery” 82 times and mention “State’s Rights’” and the “10th Amendment” a grand total of ZERO Times.
