Hamilton, Ontario, Jan. 28, 2005 (CNA) - Canadian archaeologist Russell Adams, a professor at McMaster University has recently unearthed evidence, which helps to show the historical accuracy of the Bible.
Professor Adams and his team of colleagues have found information that points to the existence of the Biblical Kingdom of Edom existing at precisely the time Scripture claims it existed.
The evidence flies in the face of a common belief that Edom actually came into existence at least 200 years later.
According to the Canadian Globe and Mail, the groups findings mean that those scholars convinced that the Hebrew Old Testament is at best a compendium of revisionist, fragmented history, mixed with folklore and theology, and at worst a piece of outright propaganda, likely will have to apply the brakes to their thinking.
The Kingdom of Edom, mentioned throughout the Old Testament, and a continuous source of hostility for Biblical Israel, is thought to have existed in what is now southern Jordan.
The group made their discovery while investigating a copper mining site called Khirbat en-Nahas.
According to the Globe and Mail, radiocarbon dating of their finds, firmly established that occupation of the site began in the 11th century BC and a monumental fortress was built in the 10th century BC, supporting the argument for existence of an Edomite state at least 200 years earlier than had been assumed.
The evidence is also said to suggest that the Kingdom existed at the same time David, who scripture recounts as warring with Edom, was king over Israel.
No. Some deny the Enemy is attacking. You have those who are paranoid with cause and those with their head in the sand.
I surmise this is not directed at me.
Surmission correct, the ping was informational.
Read 1 Corinthians 7:7-8 and Matthew 19:12
Corinthians
7 For I would that all men were even as myself. But every one hath his proper gift from God: one after this manner, and another after that.
8 But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they so continue, even as I.
Matthew
12 For there are eunuchs, who were born so from their mothers womb: and there are eunuchs, who were made so by men: and there are eunuchs, who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven. He that can take, let him take it.
It is interpretations like this that demonstrate the major, almost irreconcilable, difference among Catholics and Protestants.
Christ's church is His Body. His Body is comprised of those who He has redeemed from the foundation of the world. The name of a physical building means nothing, whether it's Baptist, Methodist, Episcopalian, COGIC, or Catholic.
His only true church is made of born again believers, no matter what you call yourselves. One may go to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church or St. Joseph, and still not be in Christ's church although he is sitting in a church.

Try reading Matthew - celibacy has been allowed and encouraged from the first Apostles. As for the reasons for the Gregorian Reform, they are varied and complex.
Who is your Bishop?
In some ways, you are correct. What disciplines and teachings of the Bible do you reject? Do you eat of the Bread of Life? Have you a Bishop that you are subject to? Is divorce or contraception acceptable in your private interpretation of the Bible, or do you accept the teachings of the Bishop on these subjects, as long as they conform to the teachings of Our Lord?
(Pronounced eye roll.)
Nonsense. If that were so, the statistics that show MOST child abuse is done by married men would not be factual. Further, as to clergy - married clergy abuse children at about the same rate as celibate clergy do.
Who is YOUR Bishop?
I reject nothing from the Old and New Testaments. I accept all 66 books. Only those 66 books. I can emphasize that enough.
Do you eat of the Bread of Life?
My church has communion. So the answer is yes.
Have you a Bishop that you are subject to?
I don't have a bishop, and am accountable to no man. I'm only accountable to Jesus Christ.
Is divorce or contraception acceptable in your private interpretation of the Bible, or do you accept the teachings of the Bishop on these subjects, as long as they conform to the teachings of Our Lord?
Again, I obey what's found in The Holy Bible. If it is outside of that, it's nothing more than literature. Christ Himself is our Intercessor. No man, and I mean no man, is necessary to go between Christ and I, or Christ and anybody else for that matter.
Christ was crucified and resurrected to open the door. He is more than enough. He is everything.

10 Myths about Priestly Pedophilia CRISIS E-LETTER
"I don't have a bishop, and am accountable to no man."
So you REJECT the biblical references to a priesthood and bishops? Under what authority?
Who consecrates the wheat bread into the Bread of Life for you?
I've already told you what I accept and reject. What's so hard to understand about that? I spoke in plain, elementary English.

"exactly what we need: Ignorant comments from people who regurgitate what their equally ignorant Baptist preachers spew"
"Good rule of thumb: Think before you post."
Try practicing what you preach.
"Again, I obey what's found in The Holy Bible."
In this thread, Holy Writ defines (in St. Timothy and St. Matthew) the role of the clergy. You claim to accept and obey what is found in the bible and yet you reject the Bishophric and the Ordained Priesthood. If you claim to OBEY the entire Bible, how can you reconcile this rejection? Whose authority regarding interpretation of the Holy Writ do you accept as authoritative?
"Yeah, sure. Like that is going to happen. The revisionists don't like what the bible says so they have to undermine it."
Yes, so very true. Especially so the Pentateuch generally and Genesis and Exodus specifically.
