You do when the 'paying customer' gets up and leaves because his team is losing and the 'piranha fan' takes his place...

You're right, fans are not responsible for what they do, only basketball players.
Look, if someone comes into the stands I'm GETTING AWAY. And I'm not throwing stuff at anyone, especially when I could hit innocent parties like personnel, coaches and security.
But EVERYONE next to the tunnel threw something. That says something, but I'm certain you'll blame Artest for it.

That's bullshit(both here and Owens). I agree 100%
While the main instigator fans were white, there was also later on a couple of black fans teaming up with the white fans. I did not see that yet; no sat or cable here!
The only color that was being targeted was Pacer colors. LOL!! Some week it has been and it is College Football Rivalry Saturday(11-20-2004).

defend them for what? making detroit look like jimmy kimmel's rioters
To: stefanbc
Are you retarded? They just had a clip of the PA announcer saying "don't throw things on the floor, leave the arena, the game has been called."
You're right, the fans are not responsible. No one is responsible except the players.

Nor should you apologize for the thuggish behavior of people of means from Detroit. Shows the city to be what it is. Bunch of scum bags. (I am sure there are exceptions, but it is what it is)

LOL... show-off...
;-) I can't take credit for it. I found it over on basketballboards.net...

Holy $h!t! They just replayed the whole thing on Sportscenter. The riot was 5 minutes long!!! Now they're doing the biggest hits. This is unbelievable! I stopped watching the NBA a long time ago - now I know why.

I was walking past the restaurant/bar next to the Chicago Hyatt tonight. Couldn't figure out why everyone inside and even outside looking in the windows was glued to the screen. Looked in myself, and saw the melee on the TV. Definitely had everyone's attention. Kinda like the gawkers craning their necks at a traffic accident...
To: Howlin
LMAO at Tinsley. A Dustpan.

A mea culpa, they did say it was probably a plastic bottle.
But it was NOT a player who threa a damn chair. As Jermaine O 'Neal was leaving, the chair was thrown and there was another fight started that saw an old woman laying on the ground. The only player in the area was O'Neal, the rest of the gang were fans swarming O'Neal.
I guess that's HIS fault, as well, especially when he got hit in the face with a popcorn bucket and then doused with beer.

To: LesbianThespianGymnasticMidget
How many times do I have say that I'm not defending the detroit fans? Once Artest jumped the barrier, everyone participating was at fault. But who jumped the barrier?
