LYNNWOOD, Wash. – Michelle Obama’s national school lunch overhaul is getting a little ridiculous. The First Lady worked with federal bureaucrats to strictly limit what types of foods can be served in school cafeterias across the country in an effort to fight childhood obesity. The federal regulations on meat, vegetables, salt, and other aspects of the school lunch has been met with staunch indignation from students who have either trashed their mandatory fruit and vegetables or opted not to eat lunch at all. Now, the Edmonds School District in Washington state and others are cracking down on birthday cupcakes and...

How does everyone think the SCOTUS is going to rule on Hobby Lobby. Unfortunately, I predict they'll vote on behalf of ObamaCare against HL.

Bob Basso dressed as Thomas Payne and made some excellent U-Tube video's. Last I heard, he was called to the White Hut for a meeting.....never to be heard from again. Anybody know what happened to Bob?

NEW YORK (MainStreet) — This spring, new research out of Canada's McGill University that reviewed historical temperature records and geological data (ice cores, tree rings and lake sediments) concluded with 99% certainty that our current climate change predicament cannot be ascribed to natural cycles. But many are still dubious that man-made climate change is real. What's more, some skeptics even claim climate change is a money-making scam. In reality, you can follow the "dark money" to see how targeted funding is perpetuating these misconceptions -- even as climate change awareness and research groups lose funding. The article attempts to attack "skeptic"...

A Salem City woman is being sought by police for her alleged role in a brutal attack on a 27-year-old woman Tuesday. Latia Harris, 25, is accused of assaulting Catherine Ferreira and threatening to kick the woman's 2-year-old son while a crowd of onlookers stood and watched, some of them recording the beating with their cell phones rather than intervening.

With the raging war between the Sunni and the Shiites in Iraq, and with the presidents apparent animosity toward the Iraqi government it seems important to understand if Obama has ties to the Sunnis or to the Shiites. Does anyone on FR know the answer to this?

I never thought I would see the day when there were participants in this forum openly advocating voting for a liberal Democrat. Yet that is what many are doing in advocating Kentuckians vote for Alison Lundergan Grimes. This makes no sense unless one is a liberal or leftist anti-American or are unable to move beyond emotion and irrationality or a nihilist mind set that lets anger, fear, lack of faith and hatred dominate one's logical faculties. Alison Lundergan Grimes was born in 1978. That's the year I graduated High school. Many here are older than I, and in politics, at...

As I would prefer to avoid a "visit" from the FBI, NSA, etc. sooner than might be necessary, I would ask you to read between the lines for the "bottom line" in what follows. Hint: The security dysfunction at the highest levels of the US government relative to events in the Middle East and our southern border almost certainly means similar "trouble" here on a scale not seen since the 1860s. The a link below is to an EXCELLENT and much needed FACT BASED 5 minute rant on radical islam by a very courageous lady named Brigitte Gabriel! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ry3NzkAOo3sLet me...

Do you think the Republicans just lost retaking the Senate due to the Thad Cochran campaign's smear tactics? Yes or No..opinions.

Shawn O'Hara is a familiar name in Mississippi politics because he has run for several statewide offices under a variety of party labels, but he has yet to win an election
-
After the shameful and disgusting actions of the GOP Establishment in the Mississippi Republican U.S. Senate runoff, where they used Democrat tactics of screaming racism and promising big government to get the vote out to Democrat voters to cross over and help Thad Cochran win, is it time that conservatives realize that a GOPE can never be trusted? Time and time again, the ruling class aka Karl Rove, Boss Hogg Barbour, big donors, K Street lobbyists and RINO's continue to stab conservatives in the back and would rather risk losing an election to a Democrat than give up their power...

Obviously Cochran is not going to resign. The governor should appoint McDaniel to his seat the GOP can be unified. Wicker is more open to amnesty than Cochran as well. Wicker only voted against the final cloture after he got hundreds of angry calls.

House Speaker John Boehner could file a lawsuit against President Barack Obama in days, in an attempt to challenge the administration's heavy use of executive actions to further its agenda. Roll Call's Daniel Newhause reports Boehner told House Republicans during a closed-door meeting on Tuesday he could have an announcement in the coming days on whether he will mount the legal challenge. According to the report, he has been "consulting with legal scholars" ahead of his next move. Boehner's office confirmed the Roll Call story, but declined to comment on whether specific executive actions would be targeted. Any legal action...

That's just stoopit. Everyone knows we only do that on Wednesdays

Do any lawyers or others among us have any idea whether the Tea Party groups that were targeted by the IRS can file a RICO action against the IRS? If so, what would it cost, what are the chances of prevailing, and what possible protections could one expect against the defendants and their friends in other parts of the syndicate? Could such an action be filed as well against other agencies of the federal syndicate involved in organized criminal actions like Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the VA, etc, etc, etc.

HOUSTON (AP) — Mayors from the GOP-dominated states of Texas and Arizona are calling on cities to use nature to fight the impacts of climate change, even while Republican governors and lawmakers repeatedly question the science that shows human-caused pollution contributes to global warming. As conservative governors criticize the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's new rules designed to cut greenhouse gas emissions from power plants, the mayors — many from cities already struggling with climate-change effects — are taking steps and spending money to stem the damage. Attendees of the U.S. Conference of Mayors will vote Monday on a resolution that...

I have received the American Community Survey and several post cards encouraging me to complete it. Having not received this before, I Googled it and found that it isn't sent out to the full populace like the Census is. It also appears to be a longer form of the Census selectively distributed in years other than Census years. There are a lot of questions that I don't feel much like answering and I stopped when asked about the market value of my home, my insurance costs, and some others. Apparently, if I don't return the survey, I am subject to a...

Its time to fly the flag, my brothers and sisters. The wickedness is fully upon us. Fly that American Flag upside down. Fly the Gadsden flag. Fly your Palmetto or Lone Star Flag. We are going to need to rely on each other in the years ahead.
