Thursday’s big announcement for the 24th James Bond movie — Spectre, to be directed by Skyfall’s Sam Mendes, and once again featuring Daniel Craig as the British super spy — sadly lacked details of the most important element of any Bond movie. At their best, the songs are as dramatic and exciting as the movies themselves, but… well, let’s just say that not every song is at its best and leave...

“Apple Inc said it discovered that the lead consumer in a $1 billion group antitrust lawsuit over the iPod didn’t buy a device in the time period covered by the case, which could derail a trial now under way,” Karen Gullo reports for Bloomberg. “Bill Isaacson, Apple’s attorney, told U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers that plaintiff Marianna Rosen’s iPod was purchased in July 2009, three months after a deadline for iPod owners to be included in the case. It’s her own fault she can’t carry a tune. But sources close to Mariah Carey’s widely panned NBC tree-lighting performance at 30 Rock believe disgruntled techies are to blame for leaking a vocals-only recording of her woeful Wednesday night appearance. Their motive? Revenge! As Confidenti@l reported Thursday, production workers attached to the NBC broadcast were upset that Carey kept them waiting three hours in the winter cold Tuesday night, and ultimately failing to show for a taping of her Christmas performance. That number was supposed to air on Wednesday’s broadcast. The network and the diva were left with no choice...
