Fan Bingbing, one of China's most famous actresses, mysteriously disappeared for three months after being accused of tax evasion. On Wednesday she broke her silence, offering a simpering apology to Beijing and swearing to change her ways. Her fall from grace serves as a powerful warning shot from China to show that nobody can escape their scrutiny. Tax authorities in China's Jiangsu province on Sunday found that the 37-year-old actress and her companies evaded 248 million yuan ($34 million/£28 million) in taxes, but gave no further details on the companies or this figure. The state-run Xinhua News agency, a prominent...

Candace Owens: "On the heels of @taylorswift13 feeling the need to, as all Hollywood elitists do, use black people and minorities as pawns to brainwash people into doing their bidding — I would like come out to Tennessee and campaign for @MarshaBlackburn." Marsha, let’s do this! #MAGA."

Back in 2014, Clint Eastwood and Bradley Cooper dropped off their war-drama American Sniper. The duo will return, this time with Eastwood also starring, for a new film based on a true story. Entitled The Mule, Eastwood's latest drama draws influence from the story of World War II veteran Leo Sharp. Sharp was the oldest known drug mule, moving cocaine for the Sinaloa Cartel until his arrest in 2011 at the age of 87.

City police are investigating after they said a local rapper was killed in a drive-by shooting outside a lounge in Queens on Sunday morning. "I just see chairs all over the floor and then I just see him on the floor, and then I didn't see anything until he starting gasping and blood just was going everywhere," said bartender Tieshajah Reynolds, who witnessed the shooting. KB @KaraRBrown If you had told me two years ago Kanye would be running around in a MAGA hat while Taylor Swift was endorsing democratic candidates, I would have smacked you to the ground and stolen your wallet for wasting my time. 5:29 PM · Oct 7, 2018

On September 19th the 94-year-old Charles Aznavour was on stage at the NHK Hall in Osaka, Japan. After a triumphant concert he returned to his home in Mouriès, the lovely olive-oil town in the south of France, and died there suddenly last Monday. It was a spectacular run for a man who outlived all his contemporaries, and indeed an entire musical tradition. His arrival nine and a half decades ago was the first of many unexpected plot twists: He was supposed to be born in America; his parents were only passing through France, awaiting final approval of their US visa...

Just got back from a production meeting at a certain "mousey" studio which took a few hours. Started at before 1 pm, and I sorta knew the schedule when Judge K was gonna the votes around 2 PM PT.. 30 people in the room, all entertainment people. One of them says "let's turn on the Tv and find out if Kavanaugh gets the vote". A few of us (me included) said no, let's finish this meeting so we can go home. I was pretending not to care as that's my cover here. Watching the votes go on C Span, the...

The well-known Mormon Tabernacle Choir was renamed Friday to strip out the word Mormon in a move showing the faith’s new president is serious about ending shorthand names for the religion that have been used for generations by church members and previously promoted by the church. The gospel singing group will now be called the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said in a statement. It’s a nod to the home of the choir for the last 150 years, the Tabernacle, located on church grounds known as Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake...

There are often things that inspire us. This is most especially true when you are young and looking for direction. In my case, I was greatly influenced by the books that I read. My favorites were short-length science fiction “pulps”. These were often paperback books that I could shove in the rear pocket of my bluejeans. I would read them, and often reread them. The authors of these stories varied, but my favorites included Ray Bradbury and Robert Heinlein. Here is one such story. This story illustrates that sometimes, it take one person to take a necessary action. Often that...

Former actor Bill Cosby was recently served a 3 to 10-year sentence in a maximum security facility after the judge presiding over his case determined that he is a sexually violent predator. Bill Cosby's prison sentence has sparked an outcry of emotions and reactions from individuals around the world. Women's rights attorney and activist Gloria Allred told CNN, "This is a very important day. Judgment day has come. We're so very proud of what law enforcement did to make sure we had a just outcome." Writer and actress Quinta Brunson tweeted, "As a Philadelphian and fan of his shows and...

Clapping as been banned at a leading universty's students' union "to avoid triggering anxiety". The University of Manchester Students' Union passed the resolution to ban clapping at student union events at the first Senate session of the academic year on September 27, according to student newspaper the Mancunion. "It was argued that the loud noise of traditional clapping and whooping pose an issue to students with anxiety or sensory issues. BSL clapping – or, jazz hands – would be a more inclusive form of expression," the paper said. Jazz hands is the British Sign Language for clapping.
