I was listening to Rush in the car talking about Ted Cruz's win in Iowa last night. There's just about no point to calling his show, sometimes, with the millions trying to get through so I thought I would post my thoughts here. 1. Rush correctly pointed out that Ted's win in Iowa is unique in that he was the only candidate (ever?) to dare to take on the ethanol mandate. I think it's a little deeper than this. For once, voters have been given a choice of a candidate that speaks the truth and lets the chips fall where...

IMHO, any candidate that got 3% or less of the vote last night in Iowa needs to say Good Bye to the race. This would include: Candidate Votes Pct Delegates Bush 5,235 3% 1 Fiorina 3,483 2% 0 Kasich 3,473 2% 0 Huckabee 3,344 2% 0 Christie 3,278 2% 0 Santorum 1,783 1% 0 Hats off to Mike Huckabee who had the good sense to bow out last night.

Staff at a housing centre for child migrants in Sweden have been banned from holding a memorial service in honour of a fellow social worker who was murdered last week. Alexandra Mezher, 22, was stabbed to death when she tried to break up a fight between two teenage boys at a home for unaccompanied minors in Molndal, Gothenburg. When staff at a similar accommodation in Ornskoldsvik, north-east Sweden, wanted to hold a memorial for Miss Mezher, the council said no. Miss Mezher's murder sent shockwaves across Sweden, and has highlighted a number of issues that has followed in the wake...

For several weeks, an 18th century replica ship has traveled across the Atlantic Ocean from France to the U.S. L'Hermione is an exact copy of the vessel sailed by the Marquis de Lafayette in 1780 to notify his friend, General George Washington, that the French king had agreed to provide troops and resources to the flailing Continental Army. This week, the boat is docked in the Washington, D.C. area, fittingly near Mount Vernon, and various French and American entities are feting the occasion. They have good reason. America's first and longest ally is France, despite occasional variances in political dispositions....

South Carolina just passed a new bill that will ruin any plan Islamists may have had about dominating the US. In a vote of 68 to 42, the South Carolina House agreed to block Islamic Sharia Law from ever being acknowledged in their state. The new legislation is explained as “a bill to amend the code of laws of South Carolina…so as to prevent a court or other enforcement authority from enforcing foreign law including, but not limited to, Sharia Law in this state from a forum outside of the United State or its territories under certain circumstance.”

Franklin D. Roosevelt warned at Madison Square Garden, October 28, 1940:"WE GUARD AGAINST the forces of anti-Christian aggression, which may attack us from without." FDR said in a Fireside Chat, April 28, 1942: "THIS GREAT WAR effort must be carried through... It shall not be imperiled by the handful of noisy traitors - betrayers of America, betrayers of Christianity itself." FDR stated at a Campaign event in Brooklyn, New York, November 1, 1940:"THOSE FORCES HATE democracy and Christianity as two phases of the same civilization. They oppose democracy because it is Christian. They oppose Christianity because it preaches democracy." Franklin...

With Citi's chief economist proclaiming "only helicopter money can save the world now," and the Bank of England pre-empting paradropping money concerns, it appears that Australia's largest investment bank's forecast that money-drops were 12-18 months away was too conservative. While The Finns consider a "basic monthly income" for the entire population, Swiss residents are to vote on a countrywide referendum about a radical plan to pay every single adult a guaranteed income of around $2500 per month, with authorities insisting that people will still want to find a job.

According to Fox News' chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge, her contacts in the FBI and DOJ are "super pissed off" at what White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said about Hillary Clinton's email problems Friday. "That's not something I'm worried about," he told reporters at the daily briefing. Earnest threw cold water on predictions that Hillary Clinton will face a Justice Department indictment for mishandling classified information on her private and unsecure email server while secretary of State.. "That will be a decision that will be made by the Department of Justice," he said. "Some officials have said she is...
