South Carolina just passed a new bill that will ruin any plan Islamists may have had about dominating the US. In a vote of 68 to 42, the South Carolina House agreed to block Islamic Sharia Law from ever being acknowledged in their state. The new legislation is explained as “a bill to amend the code of laws of South Carolina…so as to prevent a court or other enforcement authority from enforcing foreign law including, but not limited to, Sharia Law in this state from a forum outside of the United State or its territories under certain circumstance.”

The biggest question is why did 42 reps oppose this bill.

Does that also apply to Roman Catholic canon law? I don't know whether there are any situations where it has to be used in US or South Carolina courts. Maybe there are situations about ownership of church property like some Anglican parishes have gone though in recent years.

Those 42 votes are representative proof that Obama is not the problem, he is a symptom of what is wrong in America.

Canon law, Anglican law, etc. Yes it applies to them. US courts should never decide a case based on religious laws. Church questions only get to approach the courts with questions of US property law to be decided and similar things, not to referee ecclesiastical squabbles.

That law should be passed in every state in the union, and the territories of the United States.

Britain has an awful mess. In Canada and other common law legal system countries, Sharia Law has become the basis for settling disputes based on arbitration laws. The punishment associate with Sharia law happens because the losers volunteer and consent to it.

Big mess.

I like SC more and more. My son lives there, and I just might retire there, if I ever leave Wisconsin.
