But Pelosi persevered, at least for now, staving off her challengers and critics by reminding them that she is a…wait for it…”master legislator”. That claim is a laughable lie, but if Pelosi knows one thing, it is that Democrats love, love, love being lied to, which of course is why she rose to power in the first place. So things calmed down for her, but she was far from out of the woods, and many observers have remained concerned there could be more moves to oust her as next year’s mid-term elections approach. So, by now you’re wondering why I...

IT IS INSUFFICIENT TO STATE the obvious of Donald Trump: that he is a white man who would not be president were it not for this fact. With one immediate exception, Trump’s predecessors made their way to high office through the passive power of whiteness—that bloody heirloom which cannot ensure mastery of all events but can conjure a tailwind for most of them. Land theft and human plunder cleared the grounds for Trump’s forefathers and barred others from it. Once upon the field, these men became soldiers, statesmen, and scholars; held court in Paris; presided at Princeton; advanced into the...

U.S. intelligence agencies said Russia was responsible for hacking Democratic National Committee email accounts, leading to the publication of about 20,000 stolen emails on WikiLeaks. But that finding was reportedly based largely on the DNC's strange outsourcing of the investigation to a private cybersecurity firm. Rarely does the victim of a crime first hire a private investigator whose findings later form the basis of government conclusions. WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is many things. But so far he has not been caught lying about the origin of the leaked documents that came into his hands. He has insisted for well over...

Imagine a candidate for public office so shameless that she’ll make up a nonexistent devotion to religion to try to appeal to voters. Now imagine a candidate who doesn’t have to do it, because a local newspaper will do it for her. The Boston Globe in its shilling for U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Morrissey Boulevard) has sunk to depths that not even the object of its affection has gone to. Here’s the money paragraph in the Globe’s profile this weekend of Elizabeth-Warren-as-religious-person: ...

<p>For those Christians who never tire of insightful lectures from the legions of Christians-haters who know what “true Christianity” is all about, I give you Danny Zuker, producer of the sitcom Modern Family, who seems pretty secure in the knowledge that Christianity means no borders, no rule of law, and government via emotional blackmail.</p>

Danny Zuker, executive producer of ABC’s hit show “Modern Family,” has a message for Christians who support President Donald Trump’s decision to end the federal program known as DACA: “F- you.” A religious tirade that began Sunday night by the man who helped introduce Jay Pritchett into American popular culture lasted well into Tuesday. The reason: Mr. Trump revoked an Obama-era program aimed at keeping the children of illegal immigrants in the U.S. “Dear Christian, if you support @realdonaldtrump’s decision to end DACA then your Christianity is bulls–. But on the other hand, f- you,” Mr. Zuker tweeted over the...

As Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election expands, one curious detail in Hillary Clinton’s email probe remains. The “lost” emails from Clinton’s private server aren’t lost — in fact — the NSA has them, but during the FBI’s investigation, Comey didn’t want to hear about it. New York Post reports: Remember, the Republicans now control this committee. So bad news isn’t going to be stifled anymore. Clinton, you probably remember, “lost” her private emails, which she’d been storing on a personal computer server. Comey chastised her harshly in a televised speech but then...

The New York Times published an almost 1300-word news story in Tuesday’s paper about Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez’s corruption trial, without ever mentioning Menendez’s party affiliation. Both in print and on social media, the NYT failed to inform its readers that Sen. Menendez is a Democrat. “For the first time in 36 years, a sitting United States Senator is facing a federal bribery trial,” read a NYT tweet promoting the story, which was titled: “Menendez Trial Set to Begin With Tensions High and Washington Watching.” The NYT wasn’t without opportunities to inform its readers which party Menendez belonged...

Constitutional conservatives have known for some time that the Washington Post’s “conservative” Jennifer Rubin is a Beltway progressive. Over the past week, she has offered some of the most concrete proof to date supporting that argument. It is past time for the Post to end the charade. Just last week Rubin came out against tax cuts, supported a judge striking down Texas’ bid to end sanctuary cities, attacked small-government conservatives in the wake of Harvey, and much more. It’s almost as if the Post has hired a former left coast attorney to act as a conservative to undermine conservative principles....

Whenever a Republican wants to move forward — you know, pass some legislation or even enforce the law as already written, they always, always, ALWAYS have to run through a mainstream media propaganda gauntlet dedicated to the status quo, loyal only to the Democrat cause and by extension opposed to anything resembling progress. Obamacare is an objective disaster; nonetheless, the media fights tooth and nail to save it. Our tax code is a backwards, prosperity-stifling haven for corporatist special interests; nonetheless, the media will do everything in its power to ensure not a single word is altered. Then there is...

A disturbing incident involving a shooting inside a busy Washington D.C. metro station has received a lot of media attention, but all the reports conspicuously fail to mention if the suspect is an illegal immigrant. A man was captured on camera firing a gun down the escalator of the Columbia Heights Metro station in Northwest Washington in the middle of the afternoon on August 25. He eluded police for days and authorities needed help capturing him so they revealed he had an extensive criminal history and identified him as 22-year-old Cesar Morales, Hispanic with brown eyes, black hair and facial...

Sacramento approves $1.5 million to tackle gun violence 9/01/17 | by Jennifer Cruz The city of Sacramento is tackling gang violence. Critics claim the council just voted unanimously to pay folks not to commit crimes. So what's the deal? We spoke with the Director of the Mayor's Gang Prevention and Intervention Task Force back in March. We asked just how big a deal is gang violence here in Sacramento? It's a part of an 18-month program where those involved get job-training and mentoring. If they complete six months successfully, they could also receive up to $1,000 per month for nine...

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, WISN 12 News, August 18, 2017 The car owner, a 24-year-old man, fired shots at the suspects. They then drove away in the same car they came in. The online version of your editorial on gun violence and gun control is accompanied by a video of Des Moines Police Chief Dana Wingert discussing drug gang violence, but your editorial ignores the relationship between gangs and gun violence [Taxpayers foot bill for gun violence, Aug. 30]. The Obama administration estimated that up to 80 percent of crime in communities across the U.S. was gang-related. But there isn’t a lot of hope of stopping drug gangs from getting guns, no more than there is of ending the illegal drug trade. Gang members can’t go to the police to ask for...

If you want a great example of how the President’s humanizing visit to Houston and Louisiana is destroying the left’s world view, take a look as this piece, which discusses the shock an MSNBC reporter has felt as he’s been assaulted by the angry left for tweeting a message acknowledging the reality of the President’s visit, and how Houstonians of all ages, colors and genders reacted to him. Very educational about the true agenda of those on the angry left. Here’s the reality that the fake news media has run smack-dab into over the last week, while covering the recovery...

If you search the internet for “Houston mosque” or even simply “Houston,” nearly every mainstream media publication has multiple articles, being updated regularly, showcasing Houston area “mosques opening their doors to hurricane Harvey victims.” In fact, even so-called fact-checking website Snopes published an article on the matter, and not as a fact-checked one, but as a promoted news story. Many of these articles are centered on the issue that mosques opened their doors to evacuees, but Christian pastor Joel Osteen did not immediately open his megachurch doors. (Osteen later alleged that the surrounding streets were not open or safe;...

The mounting intensity of Donald Trump’s war on the press confounds news veterans like me who remember Trump’s history as a media whore. During my 20 years as editor-in-chief of Variety, I knew Trump as an avid self-publicist who frantically sought loftier standing on Hollywood’s power pyramid. But here’s the rub: My perspective on Trump is shaped by my earlier relationship with another icon who also yearned to leverage showbiz fame into political power. Assigned to cover Ronald Reagan’s first gubernatorial campaign for The New York Times, I had an inside seat to observe how a vastly different style of...
