NYT Writes 1300 Words About Dem Senator’s Corruption Trial Without Mentioning He’s A Democrat
The Daily Caller ^ | 09/04/2017 | Peter Hasson

Posted on 09/05/2017 6:54:54 AM PDT by ForYourChildren

The New York Times published an almost 1300-word news story in Tuesday’s paper about Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez’s corruption trial, without ever mentioning Menendez’s party affiliation.

Both in print and on social media, the NYT failed to inform its readers that Sen. Menendez is a Democrat.

“For the first time in 36 years, a sitting United States Senator is facing a federal bribery trial,” read a NYT tweet promoting the story, which was titled: “Menendez Trial Set to Begin With Tensions High and Washington Watching.”

The NYT wasn’t without opportunities to inform its readers which party Menendez belonged to: the paper referred to Menendez 29 times in the story, without once ever mentioning that Menendez is a Democrat.

The paper referred to him as ” The senator,” “Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey,” and “Mr. Menendez, a senior senator,” before referring to him as “Mr. Menendez” or “the senator” for the rest of the story. Only after a barrage of online criticism did the NYT note that Menendez is a Democrat, adding in the identifier in the fourth paragraph.

This is a form of #FAKENEWS.

NYT #FAKENEWS

Failing to report that which is important in order to disguise or deceive is lying and #FAKENEWS.

I sincerely hope and pray that nobody is even slightly surprised at that omission.

I’m surprised they didn’t accomplish it in 10,000 words.

The GOP could win this seat, if they have good strategy.

Did it say anything about the charges having anything to do with Menendez opposing Obama's Cuba policy?

For the first time in 36 years, a sitting United States Senator is facing a federal bribery trial.

It's no coincidence that the LAST U.S. Senator to face a federal bribery trial was also from New Jersey (Harrison Williams in the early 1980s).

The New York Times is a media instrument of the Democratic Party. Of course they will not publish any material that might damage their own party. Why would anyone expect objective reporting from the New York Times?

It’s like: The bomber yelled an Arabic phrase but we are no sure of his motives” or “the Mugger was 5’ 10” 190 pounds wearing black shirt with green lettering saying Kennedy Fried Chicken but no one remembers his race.”
The absence PROVES the obvious.

Why A Menendez Conviction Would Be A Nightmare For Senate Democrats

By Cameron Joseph Published August 24, 2017 6:00 am

Senate Democrats are living on a prayer that things don’t go wrong for them in New Jersey.

Jury selection concluded Wednesday in the corruption trial of Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), only the 12th sitting senator in U.S. history to face indictment. If he’s found guilty and forced to leave office before the end of the year that likely would hand Republicans his Senate seat until the 2018 elections, giving them a crucial extra vote as they try to salvage what they can of their and President Trump’s agenda and possibly resurrect their efforts to repeal Obamacare.

Daily Caller article states it was left out in print and on social media.

Have you verified the print version has his affiliation cited?

Is Medicare the Democrats' slush fund?

Ex-Democratic Leader Harry Reid, who retired last year, was just fingered.....trying to help Sen Menendez in his efforts to derail a federal Medicare probe of Menendez's pal, eye doctor Melgen (currently in jail).

Harry loves that Medicare money. Here's how he handed $4.3 billion tax dollars.......attached to a Medicare bill ......to get then-Louisiana Sen Mary Landrieu's vote. Yet another indictment of the Obamacare atrocity.

The payoff to Landrieu should be investigated as an indication of how EVERY Democrat came to vote for Obamacare.

BACKSTORY In the fall of 2009, Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) was trying to get the necessary 60 Dimocrat votes to pass the Affordable Care Act. Reid needed every Dim on board, which gave waffling senators a great deal of leverage.

In Landrieu's case, she connivingly saw that selling her aye vote could get her maybe $200 million federal dollars. Obama complied--- Reid chalked up another vote for Obamacare---but $4.3 went to Landrieu not the $200,000 she had bargained for.

<><> Was Mary the baglady for buying the other senators aye votes?

THE LANDRIEU PAPER TRAIL IS HUGE Landrieu sold her aye vote for a "price." Landrieu was bought off in what Forbes Magazine dubbed "The 'Louisiana Purchase" that included a massive $4.3 Billion to Landrieu.

FORBES REPORTED the Democrats’ nailed Landrieu’s support for Obamacare w/ a greenback bribe. Landrieu, critics believe, pledged her vote in exchange for some $200 million more additional federal funds for Louisiana. Except that, due to a drafting error, the law ended up giving Louisiana $4.3 billion attached to a Medicare bill: more than twenty times the assigned amount.

My local yellow journal tried for a time to convince readers that “no meaningful description was available” with zero details for minority perpetrators but was appropriately heavily mocked in response, and now no description whatsoever and no supporting excuse is given, even if it’s a dangerous offender on the loose.
