In a video posted Thursday to YouTube, Connecticut State Police Spokesman Lt. Paul Vance is heard telling a woman identified as "GMN Producer Guerilla Girl Ashley" that she sounded anti-American for questioning the state's new gun control law. ***** "I want to know, if it comes down to it, will the police go to my home if my husband refuses to give up a weapon that was formerly legal and now has been made illegal by a corrupt legislature?" she asked. "Will the police actually go to my home and threaten my family, 'cause I'm scared to death?" "We don't...

SAN DIEGO — Attorney General Kamala Harris announced Thursday she has challenged a federal court ruling in a San Diego County case that made it easier for Californians to carry concealed weapons. A divided panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 this month that a law-abiding citizen’s right to bear arms for self-defense should be enough good cause to grant a concealed-carry weapon permit. The Feb. 13 ruling overturned San Diego County’s policy of requiring a gun owner to show a specific reason for carrying a firearm, such as working in a dangerous occupation. The decision,...

Check out our farewell message to Piers Morgan! So long, Piers Morgan, and thanks for all the smugIf one has the right to life, one has the right to survive—to continue that life. If one has the right to survive, one has the right to do the things necessary to survive: to acquire food, shelter, tools, property. To labor to better one's condition. To protect oneself from harm. If one has the right to self-protection, one has the right to the means of self-protection. Can anyone see any logical reason to limit those means? Now . . . If a...

Only 15% of Connecticut gun owners registered their military-style rifles with the state this year. 85% of ‘assault weapon’ owners flouted the law. Now, the Connecticut is sending letters to gun owners telling them to “surrender, destroy or sell” your “assault weapons.” Guns Saves Lives reported: It looks like some gun owners in Connecticut who tried to register their “assault weapons” (that’s the state of CT’s actual term for these firearms), but missed the deadline are now getting letters instructing them to destroy or surrender their firearms. According the letter, posted on several message boards and online media sources, residents...

Nebraska has now joined states like Florida, Arizona, Idaho, Missouri, Kansas, and Alaska in standing up for the Second Amendment -- and telling Barack Obama what he can do with his unconstitutional gun bans and gun registration schemes. L.B. 1030 would prohibit any Nebraska state or local official from "restrict[ing] the carrying, possession, transfer, purchase, sale, or ownership of or otherwise regulat[ing] any firearm, ammunition, or component of any firearm or ammunition to a greater extent than state law." This is particularly important in view of the Obama administration's efforts to ban and register guns unlawfully, by executive fiat. Hence,...

The Ukraine Gun Owners Association wants the new government to add their own right to bear arms to the country's constitution. As of today Ukrainian Gun Owners Association will start to work on the preparation of amendments to the Constitution, which will provide an unconditional right for Ukrainian citizens to bear arms. People gathered in Independence Square in Kiev after President Viktor Yanukovich rejected a European Union trade deal for a $15 billion bailout from Russia in November. It was relatively peaceful for three months, but violence escalated on February 18. Over 70 people died during the week and amateur...

If there’s one thing more annoying than an American liberal elitist lecturing Americans on appropriate conduct and conversation, its a British liberal elitist lecturing Americans on appropriate conduct and conversation. Piers Morgan is out at CNN. Cheerio! The New York Times reported: There have been times when the CNN host Piers Morgan didn’t seem to like America very much — and American audiences have been more than willing to return the favor. Three years after taking over for Larry King, Mr. Morgan has seen the ratings for “Piers Morgan Live” hit some new lows, drawing a fraction of viewers compared...

"Take down the sign or go to jail. We do not approve of guns...or you." This is the unmistakable messages sent by progressives when they take over a city and freedom pays the price. Ares Armor is a small tactical store operating one of their stores in National City, CA, a suburb of San Diego. Nevermind that CEO Dimitri and his staff at Ares Armor are in complete compliance with all laws and ordinances. That does not matter. That's because guns are at the heart of this debate. The City Council has taken offense to their presence there and is...

Gun control advocates are trying to shame Visa. Well, actually they’re trying to demonize America’s oldest civil rights organization, by shaming Visa. According to theHill.com, proponents of tighter gun-control gathered outside of Visa’s Washington office to pressure the credit card giant into cutting ties with the NRA. A petition was even made to put an end to the NRA Visa card. (What! The NRA has a Visa card? Hang on…) The protest and petition was in response to the NRA’s Visa card that “helps protect Second Amendment rights” with every purchase. Apparently the card (from here on known as “my...

BEAUMONT - Beaumont police were called to Eastex Freeway near Highway 105 Saturday morning by people complaining about a man dressed as a banana holding an AK-47. Derek Poe, owner of Golden Triangle Tactical, told 12News Saturday that it was part of the store's grand opening after moving locations from Parkdale Mall. Poe said the man in the banana suit was holding an AK-47 across his back with the barrel pointing down and holding a sign with an arrow pointing toward the store. He said this idea was to attract customers to the store. A Beaumont police spokesperson said officers...

In the midst of the national gun debate, a new organization has started to gain momentum. Armed Citizens United first launched on November 11, 2013. The mission statement on it’s website states: “Armed Citizens United is a membership based organization that stands to preserve and defend the inherent rights declared by the 2nd Amendment. We lobby, organize, inform, empower and educate to ensure that the liberties provided to us are not infringed.” It goes on to describe it’s initiatives and objectives:

With Obama&'s State of the Union address coming up, it’s easy to breath a sigh of relief that another year is behind us, and he only has three more to go.These are the three most dangerous years. His time is running out, and he knows it. Obama’s rough 2013 prompts a new blueprint: An internal White House assessment concludes that President Obama must distance himself from a recalcitrant Congress after being badly damaged last year by legislative failures, a government shutdown and his own missteps....As a result, Washington veterans have been brought into the West Wing to emphasize an executive style...

I have read through a number of accounts of Lobby Day at the Virginia Capitol at Richmond on 20 January. I was drawn to study the event because of an account on wvtf public radio. The account on wvtf said that competing crowds of people were lobbying in favor of second amendment rights and those who wish to restrict those rights, occurred on Tuesday. I think the reporter simply got the day wrong, because all of the other coverage that I could find indicated the events occurred on Monday, 20 January, 2014. The orientation of the reporter for...

Not so fast, Andrew Cuomo. We see what you did there. After publicly bashing conservative New Yorkers as "extreme" people who have no place in his state, the intolerant Democratic governor wants to blame the media for his unmistakable contempt for those who oppose abortion, support gun rights and defend traditional marriage. Newsflash: Crapweasel politicians can backtrack and scapegoat, but they can't hide. When he railed against socially conservative Republican candidates in a radio interview last week, Cuomo hyperbolically singled out those he called "right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay" citizens. Sounding unapologetically purge-tastic, the governor said these political opponents "have no place...

New York governor Andrew Cuomo, whose desire to be the Democratic nominee for president of these United States is embarrassingly palpable, has decided that those who do not share his views on abortion (Hooray!), scary-looking firearms (Horrors!), and the various political demands attached to organized homosexuality (Hand on heart!) are untouchables — “They have no place in the state of New York,” he says, “because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”The governor needs to meet some New Yorkers.

Emily Miller didn't start out as a gun girl. She wasn't a hunter, she wasn't a competitive shooter or a collector by any means. She was simply a woman who didn't feel safe. Here's how she put it in a "Washington Times" column: I want a gun. I don’t feel safe living in Washington, D.C. and want to protect myself. I’m starting today by going down to City Hall to find the gun permit office to tell them, “I want a gun.”

Last week, Florida’s 1st District Court of Appeals ruled that statutes originating in the Florida Legislature take precedence over regulations passed by local governments or state agencies. This authority to preempt local ordinances prevents counties, cities and townships from creating a patchwork quilt of regulations which most citizens would find impossible to obey. What the decision means is that the 12 state universities in Florida cannot overrule a 2011 law in which the Florida Legislature “…pre-empted the regulation of guns by local governments and state agencies.” (1) The lawsuit–Florida Carry Inc. and Alexandria Lainez vs. the University of North Florida–was...

Gun-rights advocates are having trouble digesting a social-media post from a senior advisor to Gov. John Hickenlooper that compares the right to bear arms with the right to bear a ham sandwich. “’Constitutional rights,’” yes. But #gunrights? Isn’t that like #hamsandwichrights or #lightbulbrights or #bombrights or #humanrights…wait,” says the message from Max Potter, the governor’s senior media adviser, on Twitter. Former Rep. Tom Tancredo, who’s running for the Republican nomination for governor, said the tweet seems to claim that “there is no Second Amendment,” and called on the governor to explain the message. “The tweet implies that the governor looks...

Second Amendment: A Florida appeals court rules that colleges can't ban students from having guns on campus for self-protection, bringing us one step closer to the day schools are predator-free, not-gun-free zones. Alexandria Lainez won't be able to carry her firearm around campus in her purse or book bag, but she can keep it in her car parked on campus, available for self-protection, or in case a madman decides to shoot up the University of North Florida. Florida's 1st Court of Appeals ruled that the school was violating a 2011 state law that pre-empted the regulation of guns by local...

Politics Of Sport: While ads featuring violent movies and video games regularly appear on NFL broadcasts, pro football has banned an ad supporting the Second Amendment. The NFL is within its rights, since Item 5 in its prohibited list of Super Bowl ad categories includes "Firearms, ammunition or other weapons; however, stores that sell firearms and ammunitions (e.g., outdoor stores and camping stores) will be permitted, provided they sell other products and the ads do not mention firearms, ammunition or other weapons." But the ad submitted twice by Daniel Defense does not sell firearms or one of the company's popular...
