WeatherProof Roofing in Colorado will offer clients that purchase a new roof before Oct 1 a certificate redeemable for a gun. The new "Get a Roof, Get a Gun!" promotion is the only offer of its kind, owner James Webb told Denver's Fox31 news: “We are the only roofing company in the country that is offering this. We figured we take a stand on what we believe,” Webb said. “We help protect the outside now we empower people to protect the inside." The promotion runs until Oct. 1. Webb is partnering with a local gun club to run the appropriate...

The number of gun-related background checks performed in July far exceeded those of any previous July, newly released numbers from the FBI show. The National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS, processed nearly 2.2 million checks last month. That represents an increase of almost 600,000 checks over the previous record set last year. It is also an increase of more than a million checks over July 2011. The July record is the latest in a string of 15 record-setting months for firearm background checks. July also saw an increase over June’s numbers as the gun industry’s seasonal lull comes...

When I started FReeper Display of Arms and Bearers I knew one of the few things that keep leftist administrations from assuming complete authoritarian control in America is the presence of armed citizens who are determined to defend themselves with terminal intention; a kind of civilian version of the mutually assured destruction doctrine. FReeper Gun Club is designed to take advantage of that resource and put it to use in a monthly online demonstration against government corruption. But since post one after announcing last year, FReepers have accused me of being a federal spy, mocked me for calling this a...

Yes, Alton Sterling got into an altercation with the police and ended up getting shot. The blacks looking for trouble erupted in violence and caused even worse problems. The media failed in its job to point out WHY Alton Sterling died. First of all, Alto Sterling was selling pirated DVDs on the street which is ILLEGAL. To many people, that is no big deal. But, it was a big deal. The store owner knew he was doing it and was probably getting a cut of the profits to allow him to do his illegal transactions on his store property. Sterling...

In the early 1900's French gangsters used a weapon called an Apache Revolver that functioned as a revolver, a knife and brass knuckles. The Apache operates on the principle of a pepperbox revolver using a pinfire cartridge and incorporates a fold-over knuckle duster forming the grip and also a rudimentary foldout, dual-edged knife. Due to the lack of a barrel, the revolver’s effective range is very limited, but since all of its component parts can be folded inward towards the cylinder, it was easily concealable inside a pocket. It was common to leave an empty chamber with no cartridge under...

On July 19, Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom tweeted that it is “easier to get a gun than a happy meal in California.” He based this statement on an earlier claim that there are twice as many gun dealers as McDonald’s restaurants in California. However, he overlooked that McDonald’s restaurants are not required to observe a ten-day waiting period on burger or fry purchases; gun sellers are.

No more knock-off AR-15s in Massachusetts, says Attorney General Maura Healey. The state’s top prosecutor on Wednesday announced she has sent a directive to gun makers to no longer sell weapons in Massachusetts that are similar enough to assault rifles to kill like assault rifles, but not similar enough to trigger the statewide ban—or so they thought.

Were Alton Sterling and Philando Castile really innocent victims of racist cops?In order to reinforce the false narrative that blacks are systematically discriminated against in America, the Left and its accomplices in the mainstream media spent much of last week lying over and over again about two black men shot to death by police officers. Like a burnt out Hollywood screenwriter, the Left keeps recycling the same old stock characters. Black men are tragic heroes. White people and police are racist agents of an evil system. The facts are never allowed to intrude on these fantasies. Michael Brown of Ferguson,...

Editor’s note: An AoM reader recently wrote me a letter recommending I look up this old essay, which originally appeared in Harper’s Magazine in March 1933. I did so, and was delighted by what I found. In the piece, Robert Littell takes on a classic genre: the listing of those skills every man should know. Naturally the fun of such lists is the passionate discussion that results from men adding their two cents as to what belongs and what doesn’t, and what should have been included instead, and I’m sure Littell’s list will have you both nodding and shaking your...

Established December 2015, FReeper Display of Arms and Bearers is a monthly online protest against government mismanagement, tyranny and violence. Visit your local shooting range once a month and upload pictures and videos of your defense training here to deter predators and disarm pacifists. Organize with other FReepers to prep for SHTF. Please see participation guidelines below. The curse of communism: "A demon. A demon! We will turn you into a demon too." Communism is identity theft. It functions by stripping one of their identity and stamping out their individuality. The communist robs you of the willpower to perceive and...

One of the guns used in the November 13, 2015 Paris terrorist attacks came from Phoenix, Arizona where the Obama administration allowed criminals to buy thousands of weapons illegally in a deadly and futile “gun-walking” operation known as “Fast and Furious.” A Report of Investigation (ROI) filed by a case agent in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) tracked the gun used in the Paris attacks to a Phoenix gun owner who sold it illegally, “off book,” Judicial Watch’s law enforcement sources confirm. Federal agents tracing the firearm also found the Phoenix gun owner to be in...

Gun sales are on a pace to break last year's record of more than 23 million, a boon to the U.S. industry and gun stores thanks to election-year worries about gun control and recent terror attacks, according to government figures and experts. Under Obama, background checks for guns reached 141.4 million through the end of May, amounting to sales of about 52,600 a day, according to the FBI. Last year, the FBI conducted more than 23 million background checks, which are generally used to figure sales of new and used weapons. Domestically, manufacturers have reported producing about 21,000 guns a...

HONOLULU – Gov. David Ige signed SB 2954 (ACT 108) which authorizes county police departments in Hawai‘i to enroll firearms applicants and individuals registering their firearms, in a criminal record monitoring service. The system, also known as the “Rap Back” system, is a service of the Federal Bureau of Investigation that provides continuous criminal record monitoring for authorized government agencies such as law enforcement agencies. The service notifies the agencies when a firearm owner is arrested for a criminal offense anywhere in the country. This will allow county police departments in Hawai‘i to evaluate whether the firearm owner may continue...

It could never happen here, right? Boston – National Guard units seeking to confiscate a cache of recently banned assault weapons were ambushed by elements of a Para-military extremist faction. Military and law enforcement sources estimate that 72 were killed and more than 200 injured before government forces were compelled to withdraw. Speaking after the clash, the Massachusetts Governor declared that the extremist faction, which was made up of local citizens, has links to the radical right-wing tax protest movement. The Governor blamed the extremists for recent incidents of vandalism directed against internal revenue offices. The governor, who described the...

A brave 13-year-old Ladson (SC) boy fended off two hardened felons who were attempting to break into his house by using his mother’s gun to protect himself while home alone. The boy saw the men breaking into the back of his home, “at which time he feared for his safety” and grabbed his mother’s gun, the document states. He began firing at them, and the Sheriff’s office reported that they returned fire. In a heated shootout, he shot Brown three times, and Bennett drove him to the hospital where he later died. The gray Chevy Sonic they were driving had...

Americans love their guns, as any good historian will tell you. Following the recent Orlando, Florida murders, in which some 50 patrons of the Pulse Bar were shot dead by a rifle-toting assailant, United States news outlets described the tragedy as "the largest mass shooting in American history". That was true, but only if you counted its most recent predecessors - at Virginia Tech University (32 dead), at Sandy Hook Elementary School (27 dead, including 20 children), in San Bernardino (14 dead), Charleston (nine dead), and at Columbine High School in Colorado in 1999, in which two teenagers massacred 12...
