A study conducted by the National Institute of Justice has reported that less than 2 percent of criminals interviewed said they had obtained their weapons at a gun show. Chris Gibson’s congressional campaign has issued a memo describing an internal poll showing the retired Army colonel from Kinderhook is trailing Rep. Scott Murphy, D-Glens Falls, by four points. In a head-to-head match up, the poll found Murphy leading Gibson 42-38. The pollsters write in a memo: “Among the voters most interested in the election, Gibson leads, 41%-40%.” The poll was conducted early last week by Public Opinion Strategies and surveyed 400 “likely” voters, determined by their self-rating. In a deep blue state, serious trouble could be brewing for Democrats in New York. A new poll released this weekend now shows that not only has Republican Carl Paladino gained on Democrat gubernatorial front-runner Andrew Cuomo, but that senatorial challenger Republican Joe DioGuardi is now in front of Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand. According to the poll, conducted by the Rochester Business Journal, DioGuardi has passed the coveted 50% mark, garnering 51% of the vote to Gillibrand's 46%: "Republican Joseph DioGuardi edged Democratic Sen.
