NEW YORK - Joe DioGuardi, Conservative Party nominee and GOP candidate for the U.S. Senate, scored a victory in the U.S. Senate race's first debate today. DioGuardi highlighted his plan to create jobs in New York by putting a greater focus on infrastructure development, cutting wasteful government spending, and improving the federal accounting process.
"The people deserve to know exactly who they are voting for," said DioGuardi. "It is no mystery that Gillibrand has been hiding from Empire State voters this entire campaign. Clearly, she wants to hide her flip-flops on issues, her involvement in the subprime mortgage crisis, and her work in concealing the fact that cigarettes cause cancer. Today, she could not hide any longer. I am proud of my record. I am proud to be the people's candidate. I am proud to stand in front of New York voters and inform them of my ideas to shake up Washington and guard the American dream."
DioGuardi has been an avid supporter of fiscal responsibility throughout his career, founding the non-profit organization Truth In Government and authoring "Unaccountable Congress: It Doesn't Add Up." The WABC debate was co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of New York State, UNIVISION Noticias-41, and the Buffalo News. The debate will be broadcast on Sunday, October 17, at 11:00 a.m.
Is it October 17 yet?
They streamed it live, but it will be shown on Oct. 17. Talk with you then.
Just to reiterate....
“DioGuardi has pointed out that Gillibrand has purposely mischaracterized her time spent as a public interest lawyer for Philip Morris, when she was in fact helping the global cigarette manufacturer lie to the American public about the health hazards of smoking.”

“The candidates agreed on a few points. Both said Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks, should not be tried in New York as the Justice Department had proposed.
But Gillibrand said it was appropriate to try him in civilian court, while DioGuardi favored a military tribunal.”

Doesn’t Gillibrand know that the aclu just might get them off in a civilian court? Actually she just doesn’t care. She does what she is told.
