IMHO, since this is a very important day of activism to show support for Chick-Fil-A and traditional marriage, I thought this thread could be used for FReeper reports and pics from their visits to Chick-Fil-A's around the country since there probably won't be much "positive" coverage from the LSM. FReepers could post their experiences and pics and maybe even "counter protest" pics. Folks should maybe remember to bring a camera (cell phone) to take pics with just in case something confrontational happens. Go FR and Chick-Fil-A!!

I've checked with an ad agency. We can probably raise the funds we need to operate FR at our current level and at the current market price for online advertising if we run a banner ad at the top of every page and at least one rectangular ad in the above the fold body of the page and a couple rectangular ads in the sidebar. If that doesn't generate enough revenue, we can also run pop ups or pop unders and we can even run audio and video ads if need be. But of course, if we go full bore...

Fox News host Greta Van Susteren announced this evening that she will be boycotting the 68th annual Radio and Television Congressional Correspondents' Dinner over the selection of a comic to headline the dinner who has repeatedly attacked Sarah Palin using vile sexual terms.Another pig….and a media association has hired the pig, Louis C.K., to be their headliner for the big media dinner? Really? I am not going. I refuse to go. Everyone in the media should join me in this boycott. The headliner of this year’s Radio and Television Correspondents Dinner is “comedian” Louis C.K. Comedian? I don’t think so....

I'll admit it's just not the same when FR goes off line. The last time something like this occurred was during the summer right about when Hurricane Irene hit, if my memory serves me correctly. At first when these off line occurrences began it had me worried, concerned, the absence of any hard news started me thinking perhaps FR's site was under attack, the enemies of Mankind were on the march. a new, more insidious directive by George Soros being undertaken by Attack Watch and the Obama Truth Team didn't seem out of the question. As the evening wore on,...

May I recommend reparations between now through Tuesday agreeing all together that we lend some small but daily sacrifice to our Lord, for our intentions, and to humble ourselves and to pray, and fast or abstain, or offer some small repair for ourselves, for our CHURCHES, our country and for Newt? Would we express sorrow for the many ways we let our Lord down by our own sins, our faults and flaws and by so doing we neglect our Lord and the kingdom of God on earth? This would just mean to go without that single extra cup of coffee,...

For about a week now, in multiple browsers and from iPad and iMac, Free Republic has been deadly slow. Frequently it times out waiting to load. This is on FIOS at top speed, both wireless and wired. No other site is even slightly slow for me. I don't see any other threads mentioning this, and I've posted to the yahoo group with no responses, so I am assuming it's me. What could I be doing wrong? Or has this been your experience too? What's up?

Stefan Cook, Roaddog 727 on FR, in terminally I'll in the Tampa VA. His story is long and distinguished, but here is the synopsis Stefan is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserve. He was called to active duty in 2009. He was worried about the legality of an order from a POTUS who might not be legally elected because of citizenship questions. He had legal concerns that he could be accused of war crimes if an order to take military action was held to be invalid because it emanated from an improper authority Stefan sued, and rather than proving...

Happy New Year, everyone!! Woo hoo!! And we have some pretty big challenges facing us this year. We've got to remove Obama and all traces of his czars and his Marxist government, secure our nation and secure our borders!! And we've got to rein in the FED and the activist judiciary, eliminate the EPA, and end the ridiculous wars on coal, oil, gas and energy! Cut the regulations, cut the government, cut the spending, cut the taxes, get our economy going again, and set our people free and to prosper and produce!! And we must win the godless liberal progressive...

FRiends, another new year is about to dawn. As 2011 fades into the sunset, I celebrate the completion of one more year on FreeRepublic. Thirteen years have gone by since I signed up. I had been lurking here since the summer of 1998, and answered the call to attend the March for Justice on October 30, 1998 in Washington, DC. I came there on my own all the way from NJ, not knowing how many people might be there, and not really caring if I was the only one who showed up. What mattered was that a President was breaking...

China operates the world’s most elaborate and opaque system of Internet censorship. But Congress, under pressure to take action against the theft of intellectual property, is considering misguided legislation that would strengthen China’s Great Firewall and even bring major features of it to America. The legislation — the Protect IP Act, which has been introduced in the Senate, and a House version known as the Stop Online Piracy Act — have an impressive array of well-financed backers, including the United States Chamber of Commerce, the Motion Picture Association of America, the American Federation of Musicians, the Directors Guild of America,...

Brad Feld tweeted this web site, and Fred Wilson blogged about it. After viewing this video, I support it. PROTECT IP Act Breaks The Internet from Fight for the Future on Vimeo. Here is a link to the website if you would like to support American Censorship Day too. I appreciate the sentiment of Hollywood and the music industry. People download stuff off of the internet without paying for it. Artists should get paid for things they produce-but the two bills pending before both houses of Congress are the wrong way to go about it. I don’t know the right...
