Reparations for Newt
January 28, 2012 | RitaOK

Posted on 01/28/2012 3:20:08 PM PST by RitaOK

May I recommend reparations between now through Tuesday agreeing all together that we lend some small but daily sacrifice to our Lord, for our intentions, and to humble ourselves and to pray, and fast or abstain, or offer some small repair for ourselves, for our CHURCHES, our country and for Newt? Would we express sorrow for the many ways we let our Lord down by our own sins, our faults and flaws and by so doing we neglect our Lord and the kingdom of God on earth?

This would just mean to go without that single extra cup of coffee, and instead lift up a prayer in that moment. Go without that second cold beer this evening and spend that moment in a prayer of sorrow for our own many neglects. Go without a dessert and instead in that moment of small sacrifice, spend a prayer.

Keeping in mind that our Lord tells us:

" If MY PEOPLE, (MY PEOPLE), (MY), (MY PEOPLE) will humble themselves and pray, I will forgive their sins and I will heal their land. "

This means us. His CHURCH. Not the democrats, or the Republicans, or the RNC, or the citizens, but US the CHURCH. WE are His people. WE must humble ourselves and pray. It is OUR land that He will heal.

God be with us each and all.

I’m not sure that “reparations” is the right word to use here but, sure, i will give up coffee and beer again.

I think that something of the kind would be a good idea.

I have regularly been praying for three things these days:

For my family and friends, that God will bring them closer to Him.

For all my dead.

For my country, that God will come to our aid and bring us back from the wrong course we have fallen into. It is usual at Catholic masses for the people to be asked to pray that God will enlighten their political leaders and guide them to do the right thing. With Obama and his ilk in office, I have thought it better simply to pray for our country, that God will guide us and provide us with the inspiration and leadership that we need to turn back to Him.

Almighty God, who hast given us this good land for our
heritage: We humbly beseech thee that we may always prove
ourselves a people mindful of thy favor and glad to do thy will. Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudesbrought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in thy Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice andpeace at home, and that, through obedience to thy law, wemay show forth thy praise among the nations of the earth. In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in thee to fail; all which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

I will pray for a Newt win, an 0bama defeat and that our nation turns it’s back on it’s abortion supporting, oversexed, promiscuous and sinful ways and turns to God so we may be worthy of his protecting our nation from Marxism.

RitaOK - I don't know if you know or not, but yesterday there was a conference call with the Speaker and Florida Christian Leaders. I was there, Newt answered questions, and spoke for awhile. The Pastor who spoke afterwards asked that we all consecrate ourselves to prayer these next 4 days.

A lot of us have been giving up one meal per day, breakfast or dinner, as we need our energy during the day. We are also standing on these promises for Newt, beyond our usual daily prayer:

No weapon formed against Newt Gingrich shall prosper.

Greater is He Who is in Newt Gingrich than He who is in the world.

Not by might, not by power, but by My Spirit saieth Lord...

Thanks be to God Who gives Newt the victory through Christ Jesus.

Photobucket

For the Lord gives His angels charge over Newt to keep him in all his ways, and the angels bear Newt up in their hands, lest he dash his foot against a stone.

And all the people said, Amen and Amen.
