Jeb Bush guaranteed victory in New Hampshire's first in the nation primary. Despite tanking poll numbers, the governor told WMUR he remains confident he can win. "I'm going to win it," Bush said. "Is it a must-win for you?" asked WMUR's John DiStaso. "Oh, I'm going to win it," Bush repeated. "I honestly believe I'm going to win New Hampshire."

Louisiana Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne, a Republican who was eliminated from the state's gubernatorial race in the jungle primary last month, has endorsed Democrat John Bel Edwards over Republican Sen. David Vitter. Dardenne announced his support for Edwards at a news conference at Louisiana State University on Thursday, a day after the Vitter campaign rolled out an endorsement of its own from former Republican Louisiana Gov. Mike Foster. The race has split Team Dardenne, which, along with supporters of Republican Scott Angelle, came up short in the October primary. Earlier this month, Dardenne's spokeswoman, Marsanne Golsby, announced her support for...

Sometime in the near future, a transgender teenager in Texas will attempt suicide — and maybe succeed — because vilifying people for their gender identity remains politically acceptable in America. The hateful rhetoric of leaders like Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is the latest, ugliest example. Mr. Patrick was ebullient on Tuesday night after it became clear that Houston voters had decidedly rejected a broad equal rights ordinance that opponents maliciously and misleadingly characterized as a boon for cross-dressing sex offenders. [Snip] As opponents of the ordinance celebrate their victory this week, transgender people across...

On Tuesday, at the voting booth, America took a hard turn in the Republican direction. In race after race and state after state, the big winners at the ballot box were Republican candidates and Republican principles. I know why. It’s because the Democrat brand sucks. It’s because Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and any number of their hangers on have turned their party into something hostile to the beliefs and lives of an increasing number of Americans. Let me give you some examples. The Democrat Party is the party of people who hate the cops. If you think cops are...

November 4, 2015 Cold Anger - The First Signs of The Proud Vulgarians... by sundance It needed a name: Cold Anger We shared it was coming:September […] On the drive to and from the East Coast, I paid attention to the billboards and bumper-stickers. Folks, the people in “Fly over†country are PISSED, from the guy that guides hunters, to the mayors of towns and cities, to state senators congressmen and Governors who are voting to arrest and imprison federal law enforcement officials for enforcing federal gun laws that don’t agree with state law … The political pendulum has never,...

Ben Carson's presidential campaign is many things. A curiosity, an oddity, a fascinating yet disturbing commentary on today's Republican Party? Absolutely. But there's also some reason to believe that it's a giant confidence game. That isn't to say that Carson isn't genuinely trying to become president. He has even moved into the lead in a couple of recent national polls. But the inner workings of his campaign will look awfully familiar to those who understand how one right-wing movement has been bilking gullible conservatives over the last half-century. Like many outsider candidates, Carson is relying on small donors to raise...

With yesterday's elections, the speculation of voter turnout for 2016 has started. On another thread, a question was posted postulating that election results in certain areas might improve democrat voter turnout. I have been contemplating this and would like feedback on some thoughts and theories. Reagan's landslide came after Carter. Many democrats voted for Reagan because, among other things, Carter was a dissaster by most objective measurements. I knew folks (lifelong democrats) that, to this day, don't want to talk about whether or not they voted for Carter. But a lot of democrats simply didn't show up to vote. Ambivalence...

The Executive Director of the Democratic Governors Association, Elisabeth Pearson, issued a statement Tuesday night crediting Donald Trump with creating the political conditions of ‘outsider’ popularity that allowed Republican Matt Bevin to win the Kentucky governor’s race over Democrat candidate Jack Conway. . . . ““Attorney General Jack Conway ran a strong campaign focused on the issues that matter to Kentuckians: good schools, good-paying jobs and economic opportunity,†Pearson said. “Unfortunately, he ran into the unexpected headwinds of Trump-mania, losing to an outsider candidate in the year of the outsider. While Jack Conway came up just short tonight, his presence...

Trump said in early October that he had ads in the works, but in the weeks since has said he didn't think they were necessary... "I was going to have spent $25 million by this time. I've spent nothing..." "Look, anybody that hits me, we're going to hit them 10 times harder," he said. "We're going to just dollar-for-dollar, we're going to go after them. We have more money than anybody else by a factor of about 1,000."

A wounded warrior and 21-year veteran of the U.S. Army just found himself a new ally in his struggle to get proper care and treatment from the Department of Veterans Affairs: GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump. Trump met the 101st Airborne vet and his wife, Todd and April, Tuesday evening at a Sioux City, Iowa, campaign event. When The Donald noticed that the man was in a wheelchair, he left the podium behind and walked into the crowd to meet Todd and April face to face and hear their story. --- snip --- “With the current administration, warrior care is...

"In debates rife with confrontation and verbal barbs, there was one thing that wasn't a big surprise: Nobody was speaking above a high school level." "And at least one front-runner was in elementary school territory. That's according to a Big Crunch analysis of the first three Republican debates, looking at the candidates' speech patterns — and matching to them an appropriate school-grade level. We based our analysis on the well-known Flesch-Kincaid readability test. (Some readers might remember playing with this feature on Microsoft Word when writing up school reports — to see how highbrow their writing was.)"

Alexandria, VA - A new survey conducted by Vox Populi Polling amongst likely Kentucky voters found that the three-way race for Kentucky Governor remains tight and will likely come down to voter turnout. Top Numbers: Matt Bevin: 44% Jack Conway: 44% Drew Curtis: 6% (moe: +/- 3.9%) While the survey shows this is an exceptionally close race, Republican candidate Matt Bevin narrowly edges Democrat candidate Jack Conway 46-43 percent among self-reported Kentucky voters who say they will definitely head to the polls on Tuesday. Both candidates have an equal 79 percent share of their respective parties, but Bevin has a...

A 112-page internal document provided to U.S. News includes more dirt on Marco Rubio, Iowa vote goals and a January advertising plan. Even before Jeb Bush's uninspiring debate performance Wednesday night, his sputtering presidential campaign was working to prevent defections. Bush's top lieutenants convened with donors in sopping wet Houston on Monday to calm their fears and retrench for the unforgiving haul ahead. I wanted to create a thread where we can post email and snail mail addresses to flood correspondence demanding a new debate-style: one devoid of liberal MSM questions that attack and vilify the GOP candidates. One solution is having talk-show hosts as moderators, like Rush, Levine, Ingraham, etch Experts in their field asking questions in that field only could be a better path. The debates have been money-makers, more than ever before. So much so that the cable news channels have attempted to increase the debate time by 50% after raising advertising rates to astronomical levels. So these unplanned debates...

Hannity said on his show while speaking with Cruz that he would send a note to Murdock about having a debate moderated by the big three. Better yet, what if the big three moderated a Democrat debate! ROTFL
