Step back and let the candidates have the floor to debate each other as is supposed to work. No doubt the candidates will not hesitate to zing each others when called for.
Moderators simply moderate the time clocks.
Well, why the heck not? And why the heck don’t we have our own debates on our own turf? Worked for Lincoln and Douglass. No ads, just real people talking about real issues in front of We the People.
Why would they need Priebus’ permission? Just do it. It’s time to start tearing down the status quo.

I’ve often thought about this. Even prepared a list of questions just as a mental exercise. This wouldn’t just be for GOP contenders either.
If Trump, Carson and Cruz required the next debate be hosted by these moderators or they would buy time ona competing network to hold a round table discussion moderated by one of them, it would happen.
Because there is a rule (which I think they've all agreed to) that any candidate that participates in a non-GOP(e)-sponsored debate will be excluded from any further GOP(e) candidate debates.
IF they're going to do it, they'll have to do it after all the scheduled debates have finished.
(And, knowing the GOP(e), they'd schedule a debate the night before the Convention, just to prevent such a debate from happening.)
Wasn’t it Mark Twain that said,”If voting meant anything it would be illegal” or something to that effect? Same with these debates.
