Outdoor-clothing maker Patagonia hit back at President Trump on Wednesday, threatening to sue over an executive order calling for the Department of the Interior to review national monuments designated during Bill Clinton's, George W. Bush's and Barack Obama's presidencies. “A president does not have the authority to rescind a National Monument. An attempt to change the boundaries ignores the review process of cultural and historical characteristics and the public input,” Patagonia CEO Rose Marcario said in a statement.

We spoke to the author of 'The Ambivalent Internet' about the rise of the right online. Professor Whitney Phillips, author of This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things, a book about trolling, has teamed up with Professor Ryan M Milner to pen another book about internet culture. The Ambivalent Internet is about how we express ourselves online, the ways in which we do it, why we do it and how it ends up the way it does. The book was written on the eve of Donald Trump's ascension to the world's highest office, and deals, in part, with the...

Ivanka Trump has been involved in discussions with the World Bank about establishing a funding operation that would support female entrepreneurs, bank and administration officials said Wednesday. The officials stressed that nothing has been set up yet and that talks are ongoing about how this would be set up. They said it could be structured as a World Bank-run "facility," which accepts contributions from governments and private donors and then provides funding and support to women in developing countries. According to a senior administration official, Trump recently pitched the idea to World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim, who then...

Chelsea Clinton Gets Another Award For Doing Nothing Special By Emily Zanotti | 1:20 pm, April 26, 2017 Like her mother before her, Chelsea Clinton appears to be creating a cottage industry for herself in receiving random awards for her unparalleled contributions to society, scintillating takes on current events, and incredibly generous heart. Not content with just her Variety-sponsored “achievement award,” Chelsea on Tuesday night accepted the annual City Harvest Award for Commitment in fighting hunger in New York City. Before we claim that she’s done nothing to earn a major award, aside from sitting in a privileged position atop...

More than a third of Europeans and Americans would be happy to go without cash and rely on electronic forms of payment if they could, and at least 20 percent already pretty much do so, a study showed on Wednesday. The study, which was conducted in 13 European countries, the United States and Australia, also found that in many places where cash is most used, people are among the keenest to ditch it. Overall, 34 percent of respondents in Europe and 38 percent in the United States said they would be willing to go cash-free, according to the survey conducted...

Former Olympian and transgender activist Caitlyn Jenner was on The View Wednesday to talk about their new book and how they felt about Donald Trump. While criticizing Trump’s record on transgender issues, Jenner said they still identified as a conservative for issues like national security. Jenner’s answer prompted one host to excitedly ask Jenner to run for political office. The interview began with host Whoopi Goldberg asking about Jenner’s relationship with Trump: WHOOPI: What can you say to him that says, ‘Listen. You need to remember. We're all Americans here.’ How can you help us? Jenner responded that Trump’s ruling...

RUSH: The amount of money coming into Washington is not a factor when the Democrats start spending it. Witness Obama. National debt doubled in eight years. It didn’t matter what the tax revenue was. Didn’t matter. He was gonna spend the money anyway. The Democrats are about punishing achievement and punishing success and saying it’s unjustified, it’s unfair, and it may involve cheating and scandal. They stigmatize success because their voters are people who cannot achieve those things. The Democrats have made sure they don’t even want to try. BREAK TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Folks, it works the other way too. If...

When the College Republicans chapter at Maryland’s Hood College decided to put up a temporary display honoring prominent conservatives, the group wanted to promote the free exchange of ideas. “We just wanted to provoke thoughtful discussion,” said club president Christopher Gardner. “We have done that.” In reality, the young Republicans accomplished even more by exposing how close-minded many of their fellow students have become.

The University of California, Berkeley is likely to once again be the site of brutal protests on Thursday as questions arise about whether the city’s mayor has ties to an extremist group sparking violence. Ann Coulter has vowed to move ahead with a planned appearance at the university, despite Berkeley trying to reschedule her speech over security concerns. Law enforcement sources told Fox News that regardless of whether the conservative firebrand shows up, there is a “99 percent” chance that the college will erupt in violence.

RUSH: I have to talk about this judge, folks, and what’s happening here, because remember the piece that I shared with you from Daniel Greenfield, “The Civil War is Here†about the left simply respecting no authority other than its own, no authority in the Constitution, they do not respect the authority of election results. And this is now the third or fourth Trump executive order which has been stayed by Obama — well, one was a Bush 43 appointed judge. The others have been liberal Democrat judges mostly appointed by Obama. And depending on where you go today and last...

Eric Reid, who was first to join Colin Kaepernick’s national anthem protest last year, will not be continuing that gesture this season. “When we started doing that, our goal was to open up the floor to conversation. I believe we’ve achieved that goal,” Reid said Wednesday at 49ers minicamp. “So now we just want to move forward and just partner with people that want to make a change.” Unlike Kaepernick, Reid still plays for the 49ers and he is miffed that the polarizing quarterback remains unemployed after opting out of his contract nearly two months ago. Reid believes Kaepernick’s status...

Barack Obama said that immigrants to the US are being demonised in the same way as Irish people who arrived in America after the Famine. In his first public speech since leaving office, the former US President said the Irish were treated like the “other” in the 19th century just like Muslims are today. Mr Obama drew parallels between the two periods in American history and that in both immigration policy was “‘driven by biases”.
