In an effort to give the U.S. a leg up when it comes to supercomputers, the Department of Energy announced its plans to build two GPU-powered supercomputers that will bring the world closer to exascale computing. The DOE is awarding $325 million to build “Summit” for the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee and “Sierra” at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California while an additional $100 million will go into research for “extreme scale supercomputing” technology. I have long ago "cut the plug" and watch movies and TV exclusively thru the internet using sites like Veetle, Solar Movies, an Movies4k. I have always used no script and AdBlockplus as these sites are notorious for popups and ads...but once defeated the content is amazing. Recently I noticed videos have been lagging. The sound is fine but the picture keeps studdering/ quickly freezing and unfreezing. I have done all I can think, cleared temp files, reinstalled firefox, no success. I then disabled all add-ons and BINGO-movies now playing perfect-no lag...but the damn ads are back! When I reinstall...

DICKSON, Tenn., - A Tennessee sheriff's department said it paid more than $500 ransom to release files locked away by malicious software accidentally downloaded into the system. Detective Jeff McCliss, IT director for the Dickson County Sheriff's Office, said the "Cryptowall" program was installed into the department's computer system in late October when someone streaming local radio station WDKN accidentally clicked on a rotating ad that had been infected with the malware.
