BEAUMONT, Texas (KFDM) - Detectives say they have been told by a credible witness that a 22-year-old Beaumont, Texas man shot and killed 19-year-old Kera Teel last week. Teel was seven months pregnant and her baby, Kyndal Jae Teel, died shortly after emergency delivery. Jared Javon Bias, 22, faces a capital murder charge in the killings, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by KFDM 6 News. Investigators had been trying to link a series of incidents from the early morning hours of June 6, when Teel was gunned down at the Sienna Trail Apartments. Community donations over the past...

A person looking to sell a 1913 World War I device at a South Whitehall Township church yard sale attracted police instead of buyers. Township police were called Friday morning for the suspicious package at the Asbury Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, police Sgt. Ron Scholler said. A person not known to the church or police had brought a 1913 World War I device to sell. In an abundance of caution, the Allentown Bomb Squad was called to handle the item, Scholler said. By 3 p.m., the bomb squad had taken the device away and the scene was cleared. The church's...

We hear a lot about Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, and that’s because we have extremely fancy hardware floating around and, in some cases, cruising on the surface of those planets. The planets that lie further away from the Sun don’t get nearly as much attention, but they may soon, as NASA is currently spitballing some missions that will give us a better look at Uranus than we’ve ever gotten. The theoretical missions, which would see NASA spacecraft heading to both Uranus and Neptune, would be of huge scientific benefit. The idea is to determine what the planets are made of,...

A sailor from the cruiser Shiloh whom Navy officials said fell overboard last week, triggering a massive search-and-rescue effort, has been discovered on board. Presumed dead after going missing June 8, Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Mechanical) 3rd Class Peter Mims reportedly hid himself in one of the engine rooms, according to two sources familiar with the situation. It is unclear how Mims survived a week in the engineering space or where he was hiding. He will be flown off Shiloh for evaluation soon. Mims' disappearance prompted a massive, 50-hour search-and-rescue effort off the coast of Japan that included Japanese Coast...

How do military leaders persuade their soldiers to fight an insane war? Here’s one way. The setting is a bitter outpost of the American war in Afghanistan. The years-long nightmare has no prospect of ending so long as American troops stay in a country that has a nearly unblemished record of grinding foreign armies to ashes. A bullish general is trying to generate a dose of enthusiasm in the hearts and minds of his unenthusiastic men. “You boys,” the general says, “are the only things that count. If it doesn’t happen here, it doesn’t happen. End of story.” “What doesn’t...

As of this past week, the popular TVAddons website — and their large Fusion super repository — is down. Many of the addons that TVAddons had collected, including Exodus and Phoenix, also took a hit. These recent events have left many Kodi users scrambling to find some great alternatives to the popular and highly-relied-upon TVAddons. The good news is that TVAddons is not the only place to locate many great addons. Here are several TVAddons replacement repositories that will get you some (but not all) of the addons you’re looking for.

Last week, I had an accident, and the EMT's (licensed and trained by NY State) told me they are now required to ask, "male or female?" They explained that a patient might self-identify as the opposite sex, regardless of their anatomy. I was in too much pain to question the stupidity of it. unbelievable.

Five burglars are arrested in the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate office and apartment complex in Washington, D.C. James McCord, Frank Sturgis, Bernard Barker, Virgilio Gonzalez, and Eugenio Martinez were apprehended in the early morning after a security guard at the Watergate noticed that several doors leading from the stairwell to various hallways had been taped to prevent them from locking. The intruders were wearing surgical gloves and carrying walkie-talkies, cameras, and almost $2,300 in sequential $100 bills. A subsequent search of their rooms at the Watergate turned up an additional $4,200, burglary tools, and electronic bugging equipment.

Election Day 2016: How Are Votes Counted? The candidates have been chosen, you've filled in the circles and dropped the envelope in the mailbox or ballot box, and you are now one of the millions of Americans who have cast a vote for president. But from those millions of single votes, how do election officials determine who will be the next president of the United States of America? It turns out, there may be nearly as many ways to count votes as there are voting precincts — and there are 8,000 precincts, said Edward Foley, an election expert at the...

magine two decades of never being able to fully relieve yourself in the bathroom. That was the experience a 22-year-old Chinese man lived with before doctors in Shanghai removed 30 inches of his extremely swollen colon. Weighing nearly 29 pounds, his colon was filled with feces that had accumulated there over his lifetime. He told doctors that he’d suffered constipation for his entire life, and that laxatives only offered minor relief.
