The protests in Turkey were a good sign, but they need to be taken in historical context. The Turks have basically massacred or expelled the vast majority of Jews and Christians who used to live in their borders, and were one of the most aggressive exporters of Islam through invasion and oppression. There is little to no religious freedom in the country—the issue of any religion other than Islam was handled with utmost severity by prior generations.

The MSM helped elect the new Democratic congress, so they’re not about to tarnish the victory by holding them to the same standards as Republicans.

Your posting is of the type that makes me continually grateful for alternative media. This is a terrible, tragic story that I had not heard a word about in any media outlet until now. That’s the danger of having an ideologically monolithic MSM. News like this story gets suppressed because the race of the victims and perps doesn’t fit the liberal notion of politically correct journalism.

The pinnacle for me was seeing him host on Saturday Night Live. I know what you mean. The Presbyterian church I used to attend and one of the largest Methodist churches in my area both chartered busses to take members to the anti-war/Bush-bashing rally in DC a while back. The rally originated in the Episcopalian-run National Cathedral. The local Gannett paper ran an article the other week about how the major Protestant denominations in the area are suffering a major membership drain. Not a word was mentioned about how they’ve aligned themselves politically with the left, and how this might be contributing.

Jim Wallis brought his ‘Jesus would be a Democrat’ road show to a Presbyterian (PC USA) church in my area last year. Fairly appropriate, since most of the Protestant churches where I live are basically doing the business of the Democratic party now. Whenever I see a bumper sticker like the one you mentioned, I always want to note to the person some true famous liberals and socialists...Joe Stalin, Pol Pot, Fidel Castro, Mao, Ho Chi Minh, Adolf Hitler....

Snoop is representative of a huge problem in the U.S. I can’t even remember the number of TV shows where he’s guest-starred, and the number of commercials he’s done (I do remember him being on one for AOL). He’s self-professed drug user and pimp who, along with his entourage, acts like a spoiled, selfish, thug. And he has been embraced by the MSM and numerous corporate interests. The Australians will take some heat for this, but they have the sense that many Americans lack.
