A 67-year-old woman was charged Sunday in connection with a shooting that seriously wounded a teenager. Delores Gibson-Council was charged with aggravated assault for allegedly shooting a 14-year-old male Saturday night. Illinois Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner signed a popular bill last week that would reclassify some as being ineligible to own firearms due to stalking orders or protective orders from other states. Sponsored by Rep. Kelly M. Cassidy, D-Chicago, the measure directs the State Police to deny an application for or revoke an individual’s Firearm Owners Identification Card if they are subject to an order of protection or no-contact order related to stalking. Gun sales in California are on pace to break records — perhaps even to reach 1 million sales by the end of calendar year 2016, according to Southern California Public Radio station KPCC.
