The gun background check law knows as Question 1 just passed by 9,000 votes statewide. The ink isn’t even dry and Sheriff Lombardo has come out today supporting legislation to ban gun magazines with more than 10 rounds. As reported in the Las Vegas Sun today, Lombardo said “I’m a very avid hunter, I was in the military myself, and there’s no need to have a high-capacity magazine for any practical reason” Lombardo was the only sheriff in the state out of 17 to not oppose Question 1, the Bloomberg background check law.

For years Hollywood has painted gun owners as unhinged, violent, white men from the South (not that there’s anything wrong with being a white guy from the South). It’s a hypocritical stance, considering these same highly paid actors use guns irresponsibly and violently in their films while condemning those of us who practice real firearms safety and education. The good news is, this narrative is changing. This pretty bugger and I at the gun range early this morn @mrslisao youre a damn good shot,” Duff, clad in a fashionable camouflage vest, posted about her weekend. Between the 2 social media...

On Monday the Obama administration finalized a Social Security gun ban that could prevent “tens of thousands” of law-abiding elderly citizens from purchasing guns for self-defense. Breitbart News reported this ban on July 18, 2015, when it was learned that the Obama administration was creating a ban on gun purchases that would apply to Social Security recipients who needed help managing their finances. The Los Angeles Times reported that the ban would be sweeping; that it would cover those who are unable to manage their own affairs for a multitude of reasons–from “subnormal intelligence or mental illness” to “incompetency,” an...

There is perhaps no issue in our great republic less understood than an American’s right to own and carry a firearm. It has been tossed about like an underinflated, Deflategate-style political football seeking the sturdy hands of a wide receiver. But it is an issue worth discussing regularly and often because the consequences of poor public policy regarding firearms in the United States threatens not only our rights and our liberty but our safety as well. As the recent terrorist attacks in Berlin and Paris, as well as the bombing in New York City, prove, just about anything used improperly...

In a recent conversation with Breitbart News, Gun Owners of California’s (GOC) Sam Paredes told us to be ready for an all-out ban on semi-automatic long guns in California’s coming legislative session. Paredes is the executive director of GOC, and he suggested the “assault weapons” ban and the “bullet button” ban have both been part of an incremental move toward banning all semi-automatic rifles, whether “assault” style or not.

California is seeing a big surge in gun sales as the Golden State gets ready to enact sweeping gun control measures. Some Californians are rushing to get their hands on the AR-15, which is America's most popular rifle and a longtime target of gun control proponents. Gun sales, including handguns, are up 40 percent this year in California, while sales of semi-automatic rifles have doubled. The new laws, set to take effect January 1, will ban so-called "assault-style rifles" with easily-detachable magazines. ... today is the last day to make a purchase, since the state has a 10-day waiting period...

Californians are rushing to purchase the evil AR15 semi-automatic "assault" rifle before a new ban goes into effect on January 1, 2017. Governor Jerry Brown signed the gun-control measure into law back in July and with a 10-day waiting period for all gun sales, time is running out to purchase the gun and take possession before next year. All of these newly purchased guns must be registered with the state before the deadline kicks in on Wednesday, December 21.

On December 10, the Daily Camera published an interview wherein the founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America said her group is not anti-gun but they do oppose law-abiding citizens being able to carry guns for self-defense nationally. Shannon Watts was expressing her group’s opposition to the national reciprocity for concealed carry legislation that Representative Richard Hudson (R-NC) plans to introduce once Donald Trump is inaugurated. That legislation will make the concealed carry license of any state valid in every state, thereby opening the door for a permit holder to have his or her gun with them...

Christmas Day is fast approaching and Breitbart News thought it apropos to highlight six pocket guns that should be on wish lists around the country. These guns are perfect for men who live in climates where cargo shorts/pants are daily wear, as you can put the gun in a small holster and literally drop it in your front pocket and go. The six guns listed below are also excellent gift choices if you have a woman on your list–say, a mother or grandmother who plans to keep the gun in her purse or even to carry the gun in a...

Deaths involving powerful synthetic opiates, like fentanyl, rose by nearly 75 percent from 2014 to 2015.

By nailing the little things — the casual assertiveness, the sharp dress, the impatience for nonsense — her character’s larger transgressions later in the film feel more believable. The same cannot be said for the cause she fights for; gun control advocates spout sub-Daily-Kos silliness, claiming, for example, that Texas regulates sex toys more stringently than guns with a straight face. I think part of the problem is that filmmakers didn’t consult with people heavily involved in the issue in order to see if the film made sense.

During a Wall Street Journal Future of Cybersecurity breakfast, former NSA director Michael Hayden suggested banning whole categories of guns “might” need to be part of America’s “counterterrrorism discussion” going forward. He specifically referenced the June 12 Orlando Pulse terror attack and suggested there “might be some guns out there that nobody should be able to buy.”

Sen. Barbara Favola says she doesn’t want to take away your guns. She just wants to know what you’re packing. The Arlington Democrat is proposing to have the state study whether the registration of firearms in Virginia is feasible, because she believes arming police with a database of gun records would provide them with an additional tool to fight crime. But she knows even a study will draw opposition in Richmond […] “My guess is that there will not be a single Republican who will vote for this bill,” says Sen Richard Black (R-Loudoun). “The whole purpose of [the study]...

On December 7, the New York Times made two things clear: 1. Gun controllers are losing, as exemplified by Donald Trump’s win; 2. Corporate lawyers are coming to their rescue, donating “tens of millions” of dollars worth of pro-bono work to said groups in order to help fight Trump’s pro-gun push. Teams of corporate lawyers began working for gun controllers in a somewhat unorganized manner after the June 12 Orlando Pulse attack failed to garner any gun control traction. The teams of lawyers were not united, rather, “they worked largely on their own,” the NYT reports. Now they are unifying...

A Republican congressman is prepared to introduce national concealed carry legislation in the next Congress after Donald Trump is sworn in as president. North Carolina Republican Rep. Richard Hudson introduced a similar bill in February 2015, H.R. 986. Now known as the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, the bill, which The Daily Caller obtained exclusively, would allow a person with a concealed carry license from one state to carry a concealed handgun in any other state that permits its resident to concealed carry, as long as the person is not banned from possessing or transporting a firearm under federal...
