Today, Americans for Responsible Solutions (ARS), the gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, combat veteran and retired NASA astronaut Captain Mark Kelly, and its partner organization the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, announced a bold new effort with seven top law firms, as well as the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence and the Brennan Center for Justice, to fight gun violence. This new effort, the Firearms Accountability Counsel Taskforce (FACT), will be devoted to pursuing legal strategies to address Americas dire gun violence crisis and hold the gun industry responsible for unfair business practices that endanger public safety.
The law firms have committed hundreds of lawyers, thousands of hours, and millions of dollars to this effort, which will operate in tight coordination with ARS and the Law Centers team of gun law experts. To date, FACT is comprised of Arnold & Porter; Covington; Dentons; Hogan Lovells; Munger Tolles & Olson; OMelveny; and Paul, Weiss.

Trampling the Bill of Rights is NOT a “responsible solution”. It’s something that Nazis do. Like their “final solution”.

Americans For Responsible Solutions and federal tyranny
versus
God-given and constitutionally-protected freedom of the individual
A never-ending battle.
Too Little Too Late.
They should have done this two years ago. Now they have President Trump, a GOP congress and a Conservative USSC to deal with.
Rush is right. Liberals are far more entertaining when they are OUT of power.
“Unfair business practices”. In lib speak that means buying and selling your own property as if it’s your right.
Then again what is one supposed to feel when someone is attempting to take one of the most important rights we have in this country? That shame is minuscule compared the anger I feel at the same time. These idiots really do want to start a war with a significant and honest group within the American population. What kind of person in their right mind would do something like that with a well armed populace dead set on protecting that right? Rhetorical question. There is no one in their right mind that would do something like that.
That group could spend less than half of that instilling moral values in children through the schools and cut the death-by-guns statistics drastically.
They may want to choose wisely, here...
Very good point. The amount of deaths-by-guns that would occur in an attempted confiscation would dwarf the present death rate by a multiplier of thousands.
This is a total contradiction to stated goals. Pure hypocrisy.
ARS and its co-horts are aiming their efforts to decrease GUN VIOLENCE are aiming their salvos at the very people who do NOT create GUN VIOLENCE.
I respectfully (NOT) point out to them that it is the LEGALLY licensed owners of LEGALLY purchased firearms that are the very last to add to the “epidemic of gun violence” around the country.
ARS and their ilk are quite comfortable pointing accusatory fingers at 2nd amendment adherents, but strive to avoid contact with the creators of that violence.
How about they personally take their message to a weekend in a Chicago neighborhood. Lots of their “customer” there. Or Baltimore, Philly and DC....that is where their message is truly needed.

My fear is that they go after Gun Idustry on Product Liability. Basically eliminate the manufacturers
Declared war?
Does that mean we can start shooting them?
This is the course they’ve set for themselves. They believe themselves immune from the consequences of their actions. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Don’t know how they could use Product Liability to eliminate gun manufacturers. To win in Product Liability, you have to prove a harmful defect in the design or manufacture, or a lack of adequate warning.
Want to know something delicious? Leonard Cohen was an NRA member.

“Yes, rifles. For all the self-satisfied liberals who want to claim him as one of their own, Im sorry, but Leonard Cohen belongs to everyone. Once, when we were waiting in the lobby at the doctors office, he said: My National Rifle Association hat came in the mail today. I looked at the tag. I couldnt believe it: Made in China!
You gotta love these ultra earnest sounding names like “Americans for Responsible Solutions” that leftist groups always hide behind.
How about “Americans for Common Sense Solutions That We Super Duper Pinky Swear Will Not Involve Taking Your Guns Away You Stupid Deplorable Hicks Er Um Just Kidding About That Last Part”.
You forgot General Petraeus. He’s part of this treason as well.
