Starbucks XXXXXX Charleston, SC 29401
XXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXX December 28, 2017
Dear sir/madam:
I am writing to describe my experience at Starbucks at XXXXXXXXXXX Charleston, SC 29401, which occurred on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 around 4:15 pm.
My friend XXXXXXX and I had finished touring the XXXXXXXXX XXXXXXX house, and decided we had enough time to go to Starbucks for a cup of coffee. What happened after we got to Starbucks was both humorous, and at the same time troubling.
I ordered the coffee, and XXXXXX excused himself to the restroom. A couple of minutes later, I received a cell phone call from XXXXXX, who stated there was no toilet paper in the restroom. At that time I notified the gentleman who had prepared the coffee, and he said he would send someone right away. I offered to take the toilet paper to the restroom since he was very busy, but he said he had already told someone, and they would take it shortly.
When the young lady took the toilet paper to XXXXXX, whose hand was outstretched from behind the door, she kind of threw it at his hand. She then made the statement that she was not allowed to touch a customer's hand. Since XXXXXXX could not see the roll coming, it naturally was not caught and hit the floor. She then picked it off the floor and placed it into Louis's hand. She also made the comment that the homeless people were stealing the toilet paper, with the implication that probably was why none was available.
May I suggest you might want to counsel your employees on the wonderful clensing properties of anti-bacterial soap when properly applied during hand washing, and the desirability of checking the restrooms periodically, so that this type of incident does not occur. I do want to stress that all the employees at this Starbucks during this incident were courteous and friendly. Fortunately, this December 6 experience was not a usual one for me as a Starbucks customer.
Sincerely,
XXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXX XXX-XXXX
I hope you like it. (I do a lot)
it is stronger than Starfucks, tho... (which I cant even taste)
so only try it if you think you are up to a stronger brew
anyway I hope you like it MUCHO!
I hate Starbucks because they think they are so hip yet they just sell overpriced coffee. Depending on the workers in a particular store of any kind incidents like you described will sometimes happen. Shoddy management.
I am glad you survived your “strangest experience”. Life goes on.
I can agree with that assessment. McDonald's has the worst food ever. And the coffee was horrible, like burnt acid. I haven't been inside a McDonald's in years, so I don't know if they improved the coffee. But the burgers got smaller and thinner over the years besides getting foul tasting so I stopped going. As for Starbucks, the coffee isn't bad but it is too expensive, and their sandwiches are small and overpriced. You're better off going to any other coffee shop.
The irony is that the beans are burnt on purpose because during WWII, only cheap robusta beans were available. These were (are?) known as cheaper beans with a bitter flavor and high caffeine content. The only way Starbucks could make those beans palatable was to over roast them.
Starbucks is really getting over, still selling cheap beans at premium prices.
Milder tasting coffee is made from arabica beans which are more expensive. When you see coffee labeled 100% Colombian, that is supposed to imply that the beans are arabica (the predominate bean in Colombia).
My best Starbuck’s experience was when a guy from church in Texas waned to meet there and I suggested we move our meeting to Red Robin. Of course, I had to get on 45 N during rush hour after we met but hey.
That was best be Starbuck’s experience, ever.
i only go during Christmas time. I love the cranberry bliss bars. Aside from just a plain coffee/espresso everything else that’s edible that Starbucks provides is pretty unhealthy. Those Frappuccinos are yummy but the sugar, fat in them is horrible.
Seriously? You’re posting this drivel on the news page?
I'm related to Tim Horton, although of course he's been dead for a long time now, and I never knew about the family connection until after he had passed, but we don't have any Tim Horton shoppes here, nor any Peet's. Never heard of them.
And why would you want to taste anything with a name like that?
Yea. The barista are nice but there coffee is over priced.
With all those XXXs through names some how you managed to slip up and reveal the friend’s name as ‘Louis’. We now know who you are and you will be hearing from us soon.

Things be changing on FR.
I boycott them.
Starbucks coffee is okay, but I stopped going altogether when the CEO told his “baristas” (what a pretentious B.S. name for someone that pours coffee) to discuss race with customers. Just what we need: a tatted, pierced, unclean $9 an hour leftist freak whose life accomplishment at this point is pouring coffee, talking to me about race! Just pour the overpriced stained water, pal!
indeed! i not only instantly barf McD’s burgers but actually they DO smell funny, not that you mention it.
chemicals it seems lots of chemicals...
I bought a cup of coffee there once that actually didn’t suck. Tnat was unusual...
The smallest coffee is called “real” at $1.85. The large is $2.10 and the ginormous which fills my trucker coffee cannon ... really big is $1.85.
