Awash in Vanities, Allow One More?

Everyone has their proposed Trump agenda, what he should do, and how he should operate in the first months of his administration.

I have submitted a short blueprint (actually, a WEEK ago) to Team Trump called "After We Win." No, I won't tell you what's in it, but first and foremost it is aimed at solidifying a Trump administration against any sneaky, backstabbing RINO attempts to unseat him. Honestly, I think the nature of the victory---specifically Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, and VERY nearly Minnesota---will greatly dampen these efforts, but we still need to be vigilant. In particular we need to keep an eye on Ryan.

That said, there are two major "outreaches" (and I mean real, not just token) that should be undertaken that, when done with sound conservative policies and a celebration of the individual, will restore a genuine Republican party as "the" party of the next 30 years.

First, we need to reach out to Democrats such as Jim Webb and Joe Manchin. These are blue collar types who in a previous era would have been poster boys for the Dem Party. They have no place in the party today. It is people like them who should comprise the "left wing" of the Republican party. We share many things with them, and with some Democrats---as is obvious from all the "former" Democrats who elected Trump in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. These voters need to be a permanent part, made so by our TRADE POLICIES, ECONOMIC POLICIES, and NATIONAL SECURITY POLICIES.

Second, Trump has proven by winning up to 14% of the black vote that we are on the cusp of a real racial realignment. There are millions of urban blacks afraid to walk their streets, and you cannot tell me that Jesse Jackson speaks for them. They need an excuse to vote for Trump. Many of them did. To get the rest, SECURE THE STREETS. ENFORCE THE LAW.

Ronald Reagan, unfortunately, blew this. In 1980 he had 14% of the black vote---an all-time post-Hoover high. But in 2004, he only got 10%. Part of that was that the economy, while it improved for most, did not improve at the same pace for blacks as for whites. More, however, was that RR's "outreach" efforts pretty much disappeared after 1981. You'll have to trust me on this one---it's part of my new Reagan biography, but his internal priorities shifted and did not follow through.

Trump can. With people such as Pastor Darryl Scott and Diamond and Silk, Trump can indeed build a genuine "outreach" of substance, not handouts, starting with securing the streets.

A vast body of blue-collar former Democrats helped elect Trump, as well as that huge army of "Deplorable" conservatives. This union must be forged. The groups were only kept apart by propagandists on the left and open-borders/internationalists on the right. Trump can beat them both.

Several thoughts on this. As LS noted down thread, 80% of winning is showing up.

First, I think the gop has made a horrible, HORRIBLE strategic mistake by not competing aggressively for AAD votes. This..disaster.. in our inner cities is in my view at least indirectly caused by the failure to compete. If we had competed, at least it would have forced the rats to up their game. And the situation AAD’s face would not be so bad. This was a cynical calculation by worthless turds like Rove and our country is suffering for it. I dont care if we can only get 10% of the AAD vote. We should fight for 11%. Because its the right thing to do.

Second, I think we need to take a real hard look at how we organize and deliver services to our constituents. That is, the local parties and even campaigns need a rethink and realignment as service providers. We are in the business of providing political services. How do we best go about providing those? How do we empower our constituents? This is really a one hand washes the other sort of relationship. We do a really crappy job of delivering political services at the lowest level. Say I’ve got a problem with because of the bureaucracy. The person who can make 2 phone calls and make that problem go away has my vote and my loyalty.

Third, and I think this is broader issue than how we work with AADs, is how do we fight back openly and publicly against the rats? The thing that has most heartened me about this election (other than the victory) was the rise of the deplorables. Said another way, we really need to figure out community organizing in a better and more ethical fashion than the alinskyites. We had a great thinker and organizer who was leading us there, but sadly God took Andrew Breitbart from us. We are seeing some great stuff from places like reddit, but that needs to be more in the public sphere. People respond to direct action and we really should have an alternative to the rent-a-rioters.

Eventually I want to send books all over, but:
1) I have to wait for indictments, so I don’t become target
2) I am underfunded
3) Getting past gatekeepers is extremely hard.

I’m trying.

What? You mean we can't just go back to our safe hidy holes and leave Trump to fix it all by himself?
