John Kasich on Friday was pressed by a man in California to answer whether or not he believed people are born gay.
"Do you believe that some people are born gay?" asked Kelly Bryan, 62, of San Francisco, who attended the Commonwealth Club of California event where Kasich was the featured guest. He later described himself as a Democrat who plans to vote for Hillary Clinton.
"Please respond without prayer being an answer."
Kasich first tried to dodge an answer. "I'm not gonna get into all the analysis of this or that, I'm not gonna do that," he said. As the moderator tried to move the conversation along to the next question, Kasich bounced back. "You know, sir, probably. I mean, I don't, I don't know how it all works, okay? I mean, look. Are they? You know, probability they are. Okay?"

After the event, Bryan, who said he was a member of the Commonwealth Club of California and regularly attends their events, told NBC News that he didn't expect a very different answer from Kasich, who he called an "awful candidate."
"I simply wanted it to be answered that gay people are born gay and that it is not a lifestyle or chosen because why would anyone choose to be gay?" he asked, adding, "He had to cop to saying, gay people are, his word, 'probably are born that way' and that was probably the winningiest point and that was my first question."
Earlier this month, during a stirring back-and-forth at an MSNBC town hall with Chris Matthews, Kasich stated that he supports "moving on" from the debate over gay marriage, saying of the current laws on the books, "exactly where it is now, I'm fine with it."

Saint Augustine teaches us that there are things called ontological evils. It is not The Best and The Good that children are born with birth defects or that mothers die in childbirth but rather it can be said that this arises from the imperfections of this physical world that persists in separation from perfect union with God. God didn’t make that baby a flipper baby - it was a result of ontological evil.
If flipper babies can be an ontological evil resulting from a pill I see no reason that gay babies resulting from hormone storms in the womb couldn’t be.
Democrat media types don’t ask democrats those questions.
It doesn’t matter. Certain people have genes that drive a propensity to alcoholism, pedophilia, etc. It remains a sin that needs to be dealt with through abstinence.

My lib friend excuses homosexual behavior by saying “they were born that way”. I told her that pedophiles, rapists, murderers, etc., also are “born that way”, but we don’t make excuses for them. She and her husband are huge child advocacy people, and she really didn’t have a response.
I believe that all of them are born with the propensity to do things God condemns. (Everyone is, to some extent, due to original sin of Adam.) But I also believe that they have to be responsible and not act on those urges. And God can change them.

God never call ‘flipper’ babies an abomination. HE did call those in Sodomy abominations...God did not create HIS children abominations. That is a personal choice.
So if a gene is found to be the cause of homosexuality, I’d love to see the reaction from the progressives when women seek out abortions of their homosexual fetuses. Which side will they pick? I think we’d need a double batch of popcorn.
Agreed. And the liberals can’t say this would never happen. Already we see many people carrying Down syndrome babies aborting. And I’m sure some others are aborted based on other genetic conditions.
Because it’s activity between consenting adults, not recklessly endangering people by driving drunk or victimizing minors. You really need that explained to you?

Studies on identical twins show that if one twin is gay there’s only a 40% chance the other will be gay. Since there are known differences between men’s brains who are gay and men’s brains who are it’s likely that an infections disease is responsible for it(DNA can be ruled out). And it wouldn’t shock me to learn that that it’s transmitted through gay sex or random infection.
If one wants to talk theology, we’re ALL born sinners.

Nowadays society makes excuses for all sexual immorality, including homosexuality. The sexual revolution of the ‘60s and ‘70s paved the way for the homosexual marriage and LGBT revolutions of the early 21st century.

Is Kasich aware that scientists have for decades been trying to prove that homosexuals were born that way, and have failed. There is absolutely no proof, and there has been a lot of money spent trying the prove the point.
Tell that to the teens that get raped by the adult homosexual their first time. Hardly consentual.
We outlaw activity that two consenting adults would want to do all the time. That isnt a moral excuse.

Science has NEVER “discovered” the homo gene.
Science has demonstrated homo habits/lifestyles are NOT genetic.
Homos CHOOSE that lifestyle.
