We are not a democracy. We are a constitutional Republic. Which means that we are a representative government, not a democracy. The reason the Founding Fathers chose this over a French style Democracy is because they believed in the individual states rights. That is one of the reasons that the Civil War occurred - State Rights vs. National Rights. If we were not a Constitutional Republic, AL Gore would have been President. Trump is a Populist so he believes in a French Style goverment. Cruz is a Constitutional Republican and therefore believes in State Rights. Perhaps the decision we should make is do we want to be a Democracy or do we want to be Republic. If you cut out all of the BS that I have read on this forum then that is the decision that will be made. Either way, I believe that the Republican Party is dead and will go the way of the Whig Party. Time to create a new one, either with Trump or Cruz. The Republican Party can’t understand the anger because they don’t see that they are the problem. We gave them a mandate with the House and they abused. We gave them a mandate with the Senate, and they abused also. I will not give them the opportunity to abuse it again with all the house, senate and President with my vote. You had your Chance and you blew it. That is the Unity we should be seeking.

But he’s not complaining when that process benefits him, so definitely not sincere. Now if Trump were to say he’s releasing his delegates that he got an “extra” for being the front runner (like when he gets 100% delegates even though 60% of the people didn’t vote for him in a state—He should release 60% of his delegates in that example). If he does that THEN he is being sincere.

Semantics methinks....
“The Nevada Republican Party caucus is a closed caucus with eligibility limited to those registered 30 days before the caucus date including 17-year-olds who will be eligible to vote in the November general election. As in most other Republican caucuses, there are two components. First, delegates are elected from the attendees to represent the caucus-goers at the county conventions in March, and they generally announce who they support for President and why they should go to the county convention. Election of delegates is by show of hands. Then, a supporter of each campaign speaks on behalf of their candidate. Finally, a straw poll, called a presidential preference poll, is taken of the individuals in the room. The preference poll is a secret ballot with candidate names printed on them.

Although the news media reports the results of the straw poll and assigns delegates proportionally based on it, in Nevada, it is the county conventions and the state convention which determine who actually goes to the Republican National Convention. Thus, all delegates are unbound until the state convention in April, but they generally represent the preferences expressed by fellow Republicans in the straw poll.”

Only difference between NV & CO was the non-binding straw poll isn’t conducted in CO (CO GOP choice).

No “voters” in May in Reno...just delegates.

Thanks. It’s been a while since I listened to that.

I have the majority of Frank’s catalog from Freak Out to Civilization Part III.

Saw Frank live in the 80’s and have been to a couple Zappa does Zappa shows. John Luc Ponty was on tour with Weather Report, Stanley Clark was there too. Weather Report opened the show and later John Luc joined Dweezil’s band on stage for a few songs.

If a populist reformer complains about non-populist processes... maybe he’s being SINCERE? ...

He only complains when he loses. I didn't hear Trump complain about Nevada. Same system. Different result. So no, he isn't being sincere.

Trump could show me quite a lot if he got down in the trenches and began reforming the GOP from the bottom up like Ted Cruz is doing. But then I don't see Trump doing much of anything besides speaking at rallies. It kind of reminds me of the lead-from-behind style of another politician who had big rallies.

I never made the comment about skewing so address tat freeper.

Trump has won how many states where the voters actually voted on who they wanted.
How many has cruz got , oh yes 4 including his own state with less than 50% if you want to talk about a majority,

Now I addressed your points, but your last tine as you still will not answer anything I ask of you.

cruz has won only 3 states outside of TX, he has zero chance of taking here in FL, VA which are must wins.
Now after reading your post ten it seems you care more about beating Trump than actually seeing Clinton in the White House as you know deep down the voters do not want cruz and facts are showing you this.

The people voted and the rules said FU to more than 50% of the voters and they are sending 100% of the delegates to vote for Trump! That is not democracy. That is tyranny. I’m sure Trump is upset over this too and he will be giving the extra delegates he stole back to vote for the appropriate people.

Or maybe not...maybe he thinks those rules that are unfair to the rest but benefit him are ok.

cruz and his ego will never drop out as he thinks bribing delegates and ignoring the wishes of the voters is more important.

Cruz was the only candidate to address the convention in person, urging the assembled crowd to back Cruz supporters for the delegate slate in order to stop both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

“We had a tremendous show of grassroots support that resulted in a critical victory at today’s Wyoming Republican Convention,” Cruz said in a statement. “Republicans overwhelmingly elected delegates who will support us at the national convention and nominate us to take on Hillary Clinton,” he said.

“This is how elections are won in America,” Cruz added, in an apparent shot at Trump and his complaints about the nominating process.

The victory in Wyoming comes after last week’s win in Colorado, where 34 delegates elected to the go to the national convention are Cruz supporters.

I am 59 years old. I have seen the primary system get plenty of attention over the years.
This is not new. Some people just haven’t paid attention before.
And Trump certainly understands the system, and is very smartly whining about his losses so his supporters that having paid attention to the State delegate systems. He knows that angers the slightly informed, and he caters to that anger. It is very shrewd on his part. He is no dummy. And of course he greatly brags about his wins, and that caters to to his supporters.
But if he is correct about himself, he can’t possibly lose a brokered convention delegate fight, because he is the smartest and finest negotiator of the deal. So relax. If what is selling about himself is correct - he will win any brokered convention.

And both have to deal with the reality of a Fedzilla that is way larger than it needs to be.

Seems to me the practical way to states rights is to make Fedzilla smaller, something that the populace could be easily led to embrace. That is the lion’s share of its taxes, after all.

I told you other news outlets have reported this and there is another link to this thread to NBC.

Now again you fail to address what cruz said and instead just attack a blog or the person posting.
