February 1, 2016

Posted on 02/01/2016 8:10:48 PM PST by EveningStar

Keeping things in perspective:

2008 Republican Iowa Caucus winner: Mike Huckabee, eventual nominee John McCain finished a distant fourth.

2012 Republican Iowa Caucus winner: Rick Santorum, eventual nominee Mitt Romney finished a very close second.

Reagan lost in 1980 and GW won 2000. Don’t know the other one.

The othe possibility, though less likely is Cruz and Trump continue to stay under 50 combined and Rubio picks up the Bulk from those that will inveribly drop out and wins.

This would be the scenario the GOPe would hope for, but I can’t see this, unless Trump drops massively in the polls for some reason between now and the 8th.

If Trump fails to win NH then the optics change...
But small loss in IA I don’t see changing the optics.. We will see

Don’t need to check your posting history. You sounded just like the Dems do when they lose — it is a statement whether you agree with it or not.

If you object to being treated like a child, stop behaving like one.

I’ve yet to see a delegate count that adds up to 30- which is how many Iowa has.
Maybe they’ll find the rest tomorrow...

You Cruz supporters are just so passive/aggressive. Snark like infantile children then get all whiny when people punch you back.

There are still some caucuses that have not reported. We will have to see tomorrow.

For those who cite polls as reasons why their candidates will be winning, here are actual primary results (97% reporting) vs. RealClearPolitics poll averages:

Name - Primary - Poll

Cruz - 27.7% - 23.9%
Trump - 24.3% - 28.6%
Rubio - 23.1% - 16.9%
Carson - 9.3% - 7.7%
Paul - 4.5% - 4.1%
Bush - 2.8% - 4.1%
Fiorina - 1.9% - 2.6%
Kasich - 1.9% - 2.9%
Huckabee - 1.8% - 3.1%
Christie - 1.8% - 2.4%
Santorum - 1% - 1.1%
Gilmore - 0% -

So, “Yeah, your guy has higher poll numbers, but let’s wait for the votes to be cast and see what happens.”

Jeb Bush will win the Republican nomination in a landslide.

Maybe by a mudslide.

You don’t know who I am for. You need to learn English. I’d say you qualify perfectly as snarky and infantile. If you can’t stand a statement, tough, especially when it is not made to you. Look up the words you use passive/aggessive, snarky, whiny and the definitions shoot straight to you. Have a nice day idiot.

“Cruz is expected to do poorly in NH.”

...and his campaign was ‘expected’ to be “over” after the last debate...

So....let’s not play the “expected” game, whaddya say...

Perhaps. However, I just solved the 1x1x1 Rubiks Cube.

Beat that.

Just to remind you, Ted Cruz got the most votes ever voted in an Iowa Caucus and Donald Trump, for all his millions, could only do 1% better than Marco Rubio!

No matter how much mud Trump slung at Ted, Ted stood straight and tall against Trump's and the media's insults, not realizing Trump and the media might only think they are insulting Ted Cruz but they insult us all when they do so.

Nether the media, Trump or his supporters care to talk about issues, they just make faces, sling insults and behave in ways that I think many who wanted to stand for Trump, just got too embarrassed to admit they were for the guy!

Not too many Christians wanted to admit they wanted a guy who bragged about bedding wives of other men and mothers of children!

Thank you Iowa for clearly defining issues and values!

2012 Republican Iowa Caucus winner: Rick Santorum, eventual nominee Mitt Romney finished a very close second.

By the grand total of EIGHT (8) votes.

So, they saw McCain and Romney as losers way before the country?
