Keeping things in perspective:
2008 Republican Iowa Caucus winner: Mike Huckabee, eventual nominee John McCain finished a distant fourth.
2012 Republican Iowa Caucus winner: Rick Santorum, eventual nominee Mitt Romney finished a very close second.
Reagan unopposed in 84.
But for a guy who has never been elected to political office, Trump needs wins more than Cruz or Rubio, because his reputation based on being a winner. If he loses New Hampshire, that is suddenly going to be cast into doubt.
If Trump drops out, Rubio will be your nominee.
Thank you. :)
Three of those are incumbent elections. Not exactly a long shot.
What are you talking about?
AND, many IOWANS voted against Ted Cruz because he wasn;t going to come through with his support for ETHANOL. This is a game changer, the polls obviously are wrong, as they always seem to be.
Hey! We ALL beat Yebby!
The polls said that Iowa was a toss up for first place and they were right about that.
Both of our guys picked up their first delegates and that’s a great thing.
The Rubio thing is disturbing.
How in the hell did that happen?
If Trump loses NH, it will be tough going for him. I think Trump does well in NH. On the other hand, Cruz will finish far from top in NH, and he will need to finish 2nd or 3rd in SC to stay in the race. Like I said before, if Trump drops out, Rubio will win the nomination. The entire GOPe will fund his campaign going forward.
Who is Sweater Vest? :)
Now that is very true.
such a revolting thought.
Well as I expected Trump did not win Iowa, but he faired far better than he should have in a format that is designed to favor establishment and traditional candidates. Rubio clearly has the bulk of the establishment vote in that state.
Can Cruz or Rubio turn Iowa into something in the next 8 days? If not, then I suspect as stated before Trump runs the rest of the table when the voting comes to traditional voting booth format.
Request denied.
The election was decided tonight.
Jeb Bush will be the next President.
Cruz is expected to do poorly in NH.
Jeb Bush will win the Republican nomination in a landslide.
Ricky Santorum, famous for his sweater vests.
Oh, Laz. We can always count on you to lighten things up.
Take a look at how Dems respond. Unless your clueless it is exactly like the writer responded. Apparently you are too infantile to understand what the words said if you think that is infantile bile. Your response was hardly adult, but qualifies as infantile.
