Karl Rove: Mitch Daniels Would Be Great VP
Newsmax ^ | 11/25/15 | Bill Hoffmann

Influential GOP consultant and policy adviser Karl Rove says former Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels would be the perfect running mate for whoever wins the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.

And at the very least, Rove adds in an exclusive interview with Newsmax TV, the GOP's vice presidential pick should be a Midwesterner to maximize the Republican ticket's drawing power.

"It would be good to have somebody from the Midwest. I've got an out-of-the-box idea for you, how about the former governor of Indiana, Mitch Daniels," Rove said Wednesday on "Newsmax Prime" with J.D. Hayworth.

"[He's] done an exemplary job serving in the Reagan administration, serving in the Bush administration, serving as an eight-year very successful governor of a Midwestern state.

"And is now taking a strong role in reforming our education as the president of Purdue University. Anybody would be well-advised to look at him as a VP running mate."

Cruz/Trump

What difference does it make?

Animal Farm by George Orwell:

Squealer: A porker pig who becomes Napoleon’s mouthpiece. Throughout the novel, he displays his ability to manipulate the animals’ thoughts through the use of hollow yet convincing rhetoric.

My opinion is the days of needing a geographical candidate to balance a ticket is long gone.

Agreed. Obama didn't need Biden to carry Delaware. Bush didn't need Cheney to carry Wyoming. Bush the Elder didn't need Quayle to carry Indiana, and Reagan didn't need Bush the Elder to carry Texas. Clinton probably benefited from Gore Jr. in Tennessee and the South in general, so that might be an exception.

The last election where having a geographical candidate made a difference was probably in 1960 when Kennedy put Johnson on the ticket to carry Texas. Not much since then.

Trump would never accept vice-president. Numero uno or nothing.

In 2011, Mitch Daniels seemed too henpecked by his Diva wife to declare his candidacy. Better ask the Missus first if she would ‘let him’ run.

You are right...but I just thought I’d throw that out there. For party unity, etc.

What about Scott Walker???

NO, because Scott Walker was a strong candidate to win the nomination until somebody asked him about illegal aliens. Governor Walker opened his mouth and a professional career politician came out, with leanings toward amnesty, path to citizenship, etc.

If Scott Walker was not pro-amnesty, he would probably still be in the running and possibly leading.

Influential GOP consultant and policy adviser Karl Rove says... Emphasis mine.

At one time, yes, definitely. Today, not so much, in fact, very little.

Hey Karl, what's wrong with Senator Ted Cruz as VP?

Mitch Daniels????? I haven't heard that name mentioned in at least a decade. So, Karl Rove has no new ideas?
