Influential GOP consultant and policy adviser Karl Rove says former Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels would be the perfect running mate for whoever wins the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.
And at the very least, Rove adds in an exclusive interview with Newsmax TV, the GOP's vice presidential pick should be a Midwesterner to maximize the Republican ticket's drawing power.
"It would be good to have somebody from the Midwest. I've got an out-of-the-box idea for you, how about the former governor of Indiana, Mitch Daniels," Rove said Wednesday on "Newsmax Prime" with J.D. Hayworth.
"[He's] done an exemplary job serving in the Reagan administration, serving in the Bush administration, serving as an eight-year very successful governor of a Midwestern state.
"And is now taking a strong role in reforming our education as the president of Purdue University. Anybody would be well-advised to look at him as a VP running mate."

Anything this guy says you can consider fact that the exact opposite would be better. Based on that, I don’t even want to know who Mitch Daniels even is.

Classic Uniparty thinking: it’s irrelevant to pick candidates based on competency, trustworthiness, ethics, etc.; instead we pick the political hack most suited for our purposes.

If Trump is going to win, then GOPe needs its spies and shills in the inner circle. Well, I didn’t “know” that Mitch Daniels was also suspect, tarred with the corrupt brush of GOPe, but now he is.
Karl Rove is ignorant.
The republicans will win Indiana no matter what. Mitch Daniels offers exactly nothing. Zero. Nada.
The VP should offer a constituency or a balance that otherwise would be lost or could be questionable.
Cruz: Hispanic, evangelicals
Carson: Black, Michigan/Maryland
Fiorina: Female
Rubio: Florida, Hispanic
Kasich: Ohio
Christie: New Jersey, the overweight
Susanna Martinez: Hispanic, Female, New Mexico
Graham: the whiner vote
Bush: the illegal vote
Pataki/Gilmore: the whodat vote

This article is found to be deeply disturbing.
My opinion is the days of needing a geographical candidate to balance a ticket is long gone. Kasich isn’t even poling well in his home state against Trump, something like 5%. He is not needed at all.
