Donald Trump Is An Authoritarian and Is Dangerous, says Ron Paul
The Libertarian Republic ^ | July 20, 2015 | Lina Bryce

Posted on 08/25/2015 3:26:55 PM PDT by z taxman

Former Republican Rep. Ron Paul blasted the presidential hopeful, Donald Trump for being “authoritarian” on Alan Colmes’ Show recently.

Paul’s comments about Trump came about when he was asked if Donald Trump was good or bad for the Republican Party, to which Paul replied, chuckling, “Well I don’t even care whether he’s good or bad for the Republican party. I don’t have much interest in that per se. But, I think he’s a dangerous person and a lot of people find him kind of funny and they love him, even libertarian types love him…”

When Colmes presses Paul to explain why Trump is so dangerous, Paul states:

Well, they like him because he is so disruptive … to the party system, and I enjoy that too! But, I think he is a man ….if conditions deteriorate, which they can … people want to be told … what to do ‘And I know what the answer is, and I’ll do this, and I am the man to this.’ … he comes across very well–and people listen to him and I believe that he may be raising white horses on questions and he’s going to ride in…

Paul went on further to say that Trump is the virtual opposite of what a libertarian is, “He’s an authoritarian and he claims that’s how he’s made all his money. So, I see that as dangerous.”

A few months ago, when Trump made his announcement that he would be running for president, he wasted no time in asserting his authority in his speech. He said,

I will stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons. And we won’t be using a man like Secretary Kerry that has absolutely no concept of negotiation, who’s making a horrible and laughable deal, who’s just being tapped along as they make weapons right now and then goes into a bicycle race at 72-years-old and falls and breaks his leg. I won’t be doing that. And I promise, I will never be in a bicycle race — that I can tell you.

He believes that private property can be taken away by the government for any reason.

You know he lost that case. He followed the letter of the law. Lost the case.

The OLD LADY that everyone is so worried about LIVED OUT HER LIFE in the HOUSE. She had been offered $1,000,000 and she turned it down. After she died, I think her relatives sold it for $125,000.

I'm sure her relatives think she made the right choice (/s).

B.S. Look at their voting records. The two were in lockstep until the GOP primaries began.

Won’t hold my breath on you telling me that you were wrong.

You were wrong and I was right.

You said he used the word "assassinated", but you were wrong he did not.

He used the word "executed", which means he should be prosecuted according to our existing laws on espionage and treason.

You are reducing the word "authoritarian" to meaninglessness if you think prosecuting spies and traitors according to law is "authoritarian". Or that trying to stop Iran from getting nukes to blow up Israel is "authoritarian".

By the way, should I hold my breath waiting for you to admit that you were wrong and I was right?

Trump could indeed be an authoritarian. But what we have now is an emerging totalitarian government which means that increasingly government controls every aspect of your life. An authoritarian may not necessarily be a totalitarian and indeed some authoritarians have used their power to strip down the power of the state and give power to the individual. These types are the so-called benevolent dictators or goods kings. Examples that come to mind would be Turkey’s Ataturk, and France’s Henri IV.
The problem is that a principled constitutional executive would not possess the predisposition to act decisively against the far more sinister, lawless and corrupt federal government with all its intrigues traps, and tentacles. Unfortunately today, the constitution has no tangible force at the federal level; Machevelli’s Prince is the operative principle today.

LIVED OUT HER LIFE in the HOUSE.

Wrong. She died in a retirement home in the Bay Area.

He followed the letter of the law.

Wow, what a liberal spin. He tried to get the government to STEAL a little old ladies house. She really didn't "win," as Trump totally screwed her over. The main reason the house was never used for Trump's purposes is because the business he wanted it for, Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, was run so poorly by Trump it no longer made sense to use the housee.

I think her relatives sold it for $125,000.

Wrong again. They sold it for $530k. But she had already been moved out long before that.

Frank Luntz crapping his pants and doing a 180 now, saying that Trump may be ‘inevitable’ (that was after Trump bitch-slapped Luntz and his hokey ‘focus group’ and called him a loser)

Speaking of Fox's Luntz...

Frank Luntz's Republican debate focus group posed for pictures after the big debate.

You actually are right on the verbage used. But I must say this, Snowden’s so called treason illuminated the over-reach of Federal Government into our private lives. According the the British in the 18th century, us Americans were treasonous.. but we had virtue on our side, as does Snowden.

Now Trumps response ‘kill the guy’ seems out of line, though I guess he could make an argument citing law. Still, If I had the chance at uncovering government overreach at the expense of being labeled treasonous by the likes of Trump.. well thats not a hard choice to make

Hope you didn’t hold your breath to long.

The alternatives look like the run of the mill all-talk and do-nothing Republicans who spend all their time lining their pockets with lobbyist money. Some would call them spineless, but I call them profiteers exploiting the DC influence peddling industry. The term crony capitalism actually puts a pretty picture on corruption to the core.

These politicians spout all kinds of ideological tripe to warm our ears—just to create a smokescreen for what they are really doing. They really do nothing for the average American—just their donor friends. And really, they don’t do much for their donors. They just play one against the other to ramp up the influence monies. I mean, these business owners should be tired of lining all those politician pockets just to run a business. They are being played for suckers. I was wondering when someone from the private sector would wake up, slam their fist down and say this crap has GOT TO STOP!

We need someone who is tired of the scam and will take matters by the horn. If that is being an authoritarian, that is the type of character needed to clean out the crap in the hen house. Trump is that man—finally!

So, losing a case in court means, "following the letter of the law." I think not. Trump tried to commit a crime, but because of the spunk of a lady, and his business failures he couldn't complete the crime. But he did make her like a living hell for decades. BY saying "he followed the letter of the law" are you giving him credit for not sending men with Uzis to kill her or kidnap her?

What does it say about you that you are okay when shady developers and government officials get together to try to steal property?

And Trump didn't learn anything. He supported the Kelo decision. So a Trump presidency would mean eminent domain without president.
