Donald Trump Is An Authoritarian and Is Dangerous, says Ron Paul
The Libertarian Republic ^ | July 20, 2015 | Lina Bryce

Posted on 08/25/2015 3:26:55 PM PDT by z taxman

Former Republican Rep. Ron Paul blasted the presidential hopeful, Donald Trump for being “authoritarian” on Alan Colmes’ Show recently.

Paul’s comments about Trump came about when he was asked if Donald Trump was good or bad for the Republican Party, to which Paul replied, chuckling, “Well I don’t even care whether he’s good or bad for the Republican party. I don’t have much interest in that per se. But, I think he’s a dangerous person and a lot of people find him kind of funny and they love him, even libertarian types love him…”

When Colmes presses Paul to explain why Trump is so dangerous, Paul states:

Well, they like him because he is so disruptive … to the party system, and I enjoy that too! But, I think he is a man ….if conditions deteriorate, which they can … people want to be told … what to do ‘And I know what the answer is, and I’ll do this, and I am the man to this.’ … he comes across very well–and people listen to him and I believe that he may be raising white horses on questions and he’s going to ride in…

Paul went on further to say that Trump is the virtual opposite of what a libertarian is, “He’s an authoritarian and he claims that’s how he’s made all his money. So, I see that as dangerous.”

A few months ago, when Trump made his announcement that he would be running for president, he wasted no time in asserting his authority in his speech. He said,

I will stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons. And we won’t be using a man like Secretary Kerry that has absolutely no concept of negotiation, who’s making a horrible and laughable deal, who’s just being tapped along as they make weapons right now and then goes into a bicycle race at 72-years-old and falls and breaks his leg. I won’t be doing that. And I promise, I will never be in a bicycle race — that I can tell you.

Rand Paul is a loose cannon. Give him a wide berth.

Why do you think everything must be answered within weeks of the first Republican candidate debate?

Why is Scott Walker hiring campaign managers that are unsavory GOPe supporters? Why does Cruz want to increase H1-B visas by 500% when he claims we don't graduate enough STEM students (we graduate 2X the number of STEM grads as can be hired for a number of years). Why did Cruz believe he could trust McConnell and campaign for AND VOTE FOR the TPA (before he was against it)? Why did Santorum get in the race when (and he's a nice guy) he really didn't stand a chance with the number of candidates? Why did Jeb think he deserved to win? Why are anti-Trump supporters saying negative things about Trump supporters when that same “cult of personality” follows other candidates?

There are all sorts of questions that “need” to be answered, but time will provide more insight for all.

It seems those people panicking about Trump are those supporting candidates that are not nearly as capable of driving back at the cr@p the TWO parties are dishing out. Make your d@mn candidate DO SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF and STOP TAKING YOUR INADEQUACIES OUT ON TRUMP SUPPORTERS!

He acted as a spy, so I could understand that position.

Griping about Trump’s liberalism, cronyism, etc., is to miss the point: What people care about is the alien invasion, the alien invasion, the alien invasion.

Even Cruz doesn’t get it. People are fed up with the alien invasion, even when it’s called “LEGAL immigration.”

If it was up to Trump Edward Snowden would be assassinated... he said so himself. The man is off the rails.

He did not use the word assassinated. You realize that there are federal laws on the books right now that establish the death penalty for treason and espionage? Do you think those are "off the rails" or is it "off the rails" to enforce those laws?

Well tell you what FRiend, I could not give a rat’s ass about what Ron Paul (or his son Rand) have to say about Trump, I DO however think it notable that Sarah Palin said of Trump, “thank God he’s running!” and I consider it also notable that one of Trump’s competitors (Ted Cruz) has refused to join the RINO mob about Trump and has in fact praised him and cautioned the GOP not to be trying to drive Trump out, and then there is Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama, who is a conservative and nobody’s fool, and not only did Trump embrace Sessions plan for immigration control, Sessions showed up at that Trump rally in Mobile, wearing a Trump ‘Make America Great Again’ cap, and if that isn’t an endorsement, I don’t know what is.

You add in the fact that Trump is making all the right enemies, the Preibus/Rove RINO-GOPe axis, he’s got Frank Luntz crapping his pants and doing a 180 now, saying that Trump may be ‘inevitable’ (that was after Trump bitch-slapped Luntz and his hokey ‘focus group’ and called him a loser), and most of all, Trump has not hesitated to call Hillary Clinton’s actions ‘criminal’, he has indicated that he would want Trey Gowdy for his AG, Sarah Palin in his cabinet, and that all bodes well in my opinion.

What I believe that many FReepers are having trouble with here, is that they have been bombarded with conflicting messages from sources they would ordinarily consider reliable, take Red State and that whining little twerp Eric Erickson, thinking he could upstage Trump by banning him from his ‘event’ and inviting lil Mad Megyn in his place. How did that turn out? Then there is that mold encrusted old fossil George Will, tilting at windmills again, trying to take out Trump, never mind that his wife is working as a consultant for Scott Walker. How about National Review? Even with it’s semi-stealth homosexual-friendly ‘new’ approach, NR has in the past been anti-Obama and anti-liberal (which certainly makes them ok in most conservative’s book), but they have been bashing Trump pretty much from Day One, why? Because like many of their contemporaries, they have become (or been co-opted) into the elite ‘establishment’ GOP and Trump represents a real threat to the status quo and the “business-as-usual” crowd.

And in many cases, those discordant voices who are screaming bloody murder about Trump are perfectly ok with RINO/pro-open-borders candidates like Kasich, Graham, and of course that pinhead Jebuardo BOOOOOSH.

It isn’t easy to sort out, and the fact is (like many FReepers), I really like Senator Ted Cruz, however at this point in time, Cruz isn’t getting the numbers I would like to see and I hope it changes, but he is mostly on board with many of Trump’s positions which is why I believe we don’t see any animosity between them, only friendly cordial interactions.

See my tag line.

The sorry fact is that our government operates on precedent.

Over time, Congress has illegally assigned enormous power to the executive and Scotus.

The next prez will be a despot.

At best, we can hope for a good and wise man like Cruz, but I doubt the Bamster will risk the presidency to anyone who threatens his transformation.
