Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a prospective Republican presidential contender, said Saturday he does not know whether President Obama is a Christian.
I dont know, Walker said in an interview at the JW Marriott hotel in Washington, where he was attending the winter meeting of the National Governors Association.
Told that Obama has frequently spoken publicly about his Christian faith, Walker maintained that he was not aware of the presidents religion.
Ive actually never talked about it or I havent read about that, Walker said, his voice calm and firm. Ive never asked him that, he added. Youve asked me to make statements about people that I havent had a conversation with about that. How [could] I say if I know either of you are a Christian?
Walker said such questions from reporters are reflective of a broader problem in the nations political-media culture, which he described as fixated on issues that are not relevant to most Americans.
To me this is a classic example of why people hate Washington and increasingly they dislike the press, he said. The things they care about dont even remotely come close to what youre asking about.
Walker said he did not believe that most Americans care about such matters.People in the media will [judge], not everyday people, he said. I would defy you to come to Wisconsin. You could ask 100 people, and not one of them would say that this is a significant issue.
After the interview was completed, Walker spokeswoman Jocelyn Webster telephoned The Post to say the governor was trying to make a point of principle by not answering such kinds of questions, not trying to cast doubt on Obamas faith.
Of course the governor thinks the president is a Christian, she said.He thinks these kinds of gotcha questions distract from...

As a baptist you are spot-on there
Those states aren't going to decide the Republican primary.
We all have a right to know if he is or if he has been lying to the public for decades about such a thing.
The MEDIA is really a conglomerate of PROPAGANDA AGENCIES very busy on a full-time basis, blowing smoke up America's a$$.
I believe those PROPAGANDA AGENCIES are owned and controlled by, and through, the uber wealthy ruling elite.
Just exactly the pol response I have longed for.
Jeremiah Wright was pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Illinois, the church Obama attended for 20 years or so.
Sorry Walker! VERY relevant to me!
Wrong! (My opinion, of course)
“Global War On Terror”?
.
Such a feel-good, smoke-and-mirrors, you’re-OK-I’m-OK kind of declaration.
It’s like today’s “violent extremism” BS.
I wouldnt be surprised if Obama didnt point his golf cart east five time a day.
We’ll see if he’s wrong or not.
As with the evolution question, I say we hear little or nothing about the question and his answer anymore. If that’s the case, he got it right again.
Why not? Even most people who care about whether Obama’s a Christian or not don’t consider that a *significant* issue in terms of his presidency. Obamacare, his immigration policy, his disinterest in following the law, the way he lets Eric Holder run wild — I suspect most people who don’t like Obama as president would consider all those more significant than whether he’s a Christian or not.
And those who like Obama as president don’t seem to sweat whether he’s a Christian or not, either. So I’d say Walker is correct — most people don’t think Obama’s Christianity, or lack thereof, is a big deal.
Anyone who thinks Obama is genuine Christian is screwed up~!
I can’t support Walker...unless he sees the right path re: immigration /amnesty/deportation of illegals.
Well, the AUMF does exist, it is in place for that exact purpose, enacted by Congress and signed into law. It’s still in effect as far as I know.
Just because homobama doesn’t use it, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
I’m only asking that because Obama has asserted several times that he is a Christian. After all the hints he has made that he is actually a Muslim, I’d like to see his truthfulness tested.
Cruz is for the legalization of those already here:
Snippet from the article:
What has not been as evident is what he supports: legal status for millions of people here already, while making it easier for immigrants to come here through the front door.
No, no, no! I don’t want to be disillusioned!
If not Cruz, then who?!
If the press were doing their job, they would that he is a Golfatarian Obamist.
