Walker Says He Is Unaware Whether Obama Is a Christian
The Washington Post ^ | Saturday, February 21, 2015 | Dan Balz and Robert Costa

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a prospective Republican presidential contender, said Saturday he does not know whether President Obama is a Christian.

“I don’t know,” Walker said in an interview at the JW Marriott hotel in Washington, where he was attending the winter meeting of the National Governors Association.

Told that Obama has frequently spoken publicly about his Christian faith, Walker maintained that he was not aware of the president’s religion.

“I’ve actually never talked about it or I haven’t read about that,” Walker said, his voice calm and firm. “I’ve never asked him that,” he added. “You’ve asked me to make statements about people that I haven’t had a conversation with about that. How [could] I say if I know either of you are a Christian?”

Walker said such questions from reporters are reflective of a broader problem in the nation’s political-media culture, which he described as fixated on issues that are not relevant to most Americans.

“To me this is a classic example of why people hate Washington and increasingly they dislike the press,” he said. “The things they care about don’t even remotely come close to what you’re asking about.”

Walker said he did not believe that most Americans care about such matters.“People in the media will [judge], not everyday people,” he said. “I would defy you to come to Wisconsin. You could ask 100 people, and not one of them would say that this is a significant issue.”

After the interview was completed, Walker spokeswoman Jocelyn Webster telephoned The Post to say the governor was trying to make a point of principle by not answering such kinds of questions, not trying to cast doubt on Obama’s faith.

“Of course the governor thinks the president is a Christian,” she said.“He thinks these kinds of gotcha questions distract from...

That was a good answer.
I would have said “Ask Obama” and leave it at that.
It’s none of Walker’s business if Obama is a Christian or not. Nor anyone else’s either for that matter.

If the MSM had any honesty or objectivity, they would ask homobama this question: “Are you muslim, or have you rejected islam?”

If you have, do you realize they are going to kill you?

I’m waiting for Walker to name Marshawn Lynch as his running mate.

The press has their marching orders and they will spend the next 18 months asking stupid “gotcha” questions, which will then be replayed over and over again on the network news...

If you want to know who the Democrats are really worried about, just take a look at which candidates the MSM are trying to brand as nut case extremists (Walker, Cruz, Paul). Then take a look at which ones are being called “statesmen” and “serious contenders” (Bush, Christie, Lindsey Graham). Those are the ones they know they can beat so those are the ones the media has been told to leave alone until after the primaries.

It’s not exactly rocket science - it happened with Bob Dole, John McCain and Mitt Romney...but the RNC still doesn’t get it and Karl Rove just gets richer and fatter making promises that never seem to come true!

The more GOP candidates deal with the press this way, the more juvenile the press will become, which will make their biased antics more obvious to the LIV.

Let the smack downs continue.

What difference does it make whether Bambi is a Christian or not after all the damage that his administration has done to this country?

Even if they found an ISIS membership card with his name on it, they would just quote the 1st Amendment and his right to free expression.

After all, we never declared war on ISIS and its co-religionists are pouring into this country as you read this.

Kinda late to come up with these questions when nowhere in the Constitution is it written that the POTUS must be a Christian.

Many times he has hinted to the fact that he is a muzzie (with Steffie Stephanopoulos, for instance) but Americans are not willing to accept that fact.

the average person does not listen to the MSM or even know what the heck is going on; very uninformed. Most people listen to music and watch sports and want to escape from reality in numerous ways. Most people cannot tell you much at all about Obama and do not care to know. those who are informed are in a very small minority.

Has anyone ever met with a Christian who inadvertently declared to be a muzzie?

Sheesh, get real.

Different denominations have different definitions of what it takes to be a Christian. That was a good answer on Walker’s part.

IIRC, Walker’s dad was a Baptist minister. Most of the Baptists I knew growing up would NOT consider a member of a pro-homosexual marriage, pro-sexual immorality denomination like the UCC to be Christian.

It’s just a fact.

First these idiots claim that Rudy can’t know Obama’s heart and he should not say that he doesn’t love America. Next question they ask someone to know what is in Obama’s heart.

Idiots.

Wait a minute..Isn't there a "Global War On Terror"?

If he was really a Christian he would have had a fatwa placed on his head long ago.

The issue is whether Walker thinks Bammy is a Christian. 100 peeps in WI likely don’t care as much about that vs. what Walker is going to do with Right to Work legislation.
