It’s very odd. She seems to feel that these changes are aimed specifically at her. She’s fighting back by refusing to change. (Frankly, I find it annoying. She adapted to DOS quicker than me, but now can’t navigate in OS8 at all. She bought a support service and calls them for everything, but she first tells them how much she hates computers. They don’t care.)

My sister is the same age as yours. She refuses to have Internet and dreads the day when the only way you can pay bills is online.
I can easily envision the day when anyone who does not take the mark of the beast is ridiculed as a dinosaur or a “religious fanatic,” and life will be made very difficult for them.
Isn’t ‘Mark of the Beast’ a Biblical term, or reference?
If it is Biblical, why is it constantly changing, and evolving?

This is a quick read. . .the Mark of the Beast isn’t changing . . . what we are witnessing is an evolution of technology which points to a type of mark that now makes more sense than in my Grandpa’s day. Young people (and even most older) don’t have a clue what the Bible says about end times. It may be sooner than we think. . .but then again. . .no one is guaranteed a next heart beat. Be prepared is the phrase of the day.

GOD help us all. It’s already way too easy to upload to the internet what passes for “thought” these days.

I have always interpreted the mark of the beast on the hand and head as the acceptance (indeed, embracing) of the beast’s immorality in deed (hand) and thought (head). Metaphor.
Seems to me that folks that keep things literal are needlessly limiting their range of options when it comes to interpretation.
It does not put thoughts on the internet. Human thinking is a very complex process, that humans don’t understand and are incapable of reproducing.
No one is ever going to put a microchip in my brain and no one is going to attempt to “read my thoughts” or control them.
So, todays ‘The Mark of The Beast’ is different that ‘The Mark of The Beast’ that your Grandpa had to watch for?
