The mark of the beast is constant. It’s already determined. It is our understanding of what form that mark takes that is evolving with technology. When you find that some mark, be it a chip or barcode or something else, becomes necessary in order to conduct commerce, then that’s a pretty good clue that it is The Mark.
I have a neighbor who whines like a 2 yr old about how wicked the internet is so doesn’t own a computer. Doesn’t have a cell phone and refuses to put caller ID on the house phone. Doesn’t have credit cards, though that might be a good thing.
Although I didn't say it in the words you used, that was the point I've been making on every post on this thread.
The other point I've been making is that all these calls that this thing, or that thing, is "The Mark of the Beast" from people who claim to know are bogus.
Similar to calls of 'He's the anti-Christ'.
Frankly, anti gun and anti hunting peta radicals declaring themselves into the incompetency need to be registered much like out of control sex offenders.

If no one really knows what a prophecy means, even after the fact, it’s not much of s prophecy, is it? Why should anyone give credence to any prophecy?
They are written vague, because they have no real substance.
Ask Nostradamus fans. There’s the two possible explanations, one for the believers and one for the skeptics. For the believers the answer is how could someone hundreds of years ago describe technology and items that they have no way to know anything about, ie Nostradamus wouldn’t know a 2030 Caddy if it bit him in the butt so you really can’t expect him to say in his prophecy that’s what the guy drove. For the skeptics the answer is vagueness is what keeps people from calling you on your BS, nobody can really say you got it wrong if they can’t even agree on what you said in the first place.
Isn’t some form of mark, chip, barcode or something else, already required to conduct commerce? We’ve been using currency, signatures, chops, validation numbers, pieces of gold, etc, since commerce began.

Money, in its various forms (currency, pieces of gold, signatures on checks, electronic records, bitcoins, or whatever) isn’t the problem. Even Jesus pulled a coin from a fish and used it to pay taxes. You can keep money in various forms and various locations, including hiding it in your mattress, at least right now. When they do away with all these forms of money and you can only do commerce if you have some chip implanted (most likely candidate for The Mark to this point), then they have the means for nearly total control over you and not just in regards to commerce. God gave us free will, the unique ability to choose right or wrong. I think we sell our souls when we give this up to some entity other than God Himself.
Another neighbor showed how much you can find out about anyone so that was a big scary. Never mind the info is out there whether you own a computer or not. Oooooh noooo, there’s porn on the internet. Well, duh, there’s porn down on the street corner but that doesn’t mean you have to trot over to the corner and participate. Yes, I’ve said that. That hasn’t stopped the knocks at my door, “Could you look xyz up for me on your computer, please?” I don’t mind helping but after the 47th time, either look it up yourself or get your own computer.
That ain’t going to happen in anyone’s lifetime my friend. Maybe in another millennia or two.
Maybe they think it’s like a virtual ouija board?
