I rolled out of bed ran down and got my cup of coffee and back up to bed to watch Fox and Friends, I thought for sure Sarah's announcement would come after the coverage of Steve Job's passing, but I kept waiting, and waiting, and waiting. I even began to doubt that what I had read about Sarah's not running last night was a fake. Finally, at 6:35 this morning, 35 minutes into the show spoke about Sarah's announcement. Mind you, this is after talking about today being national noodle day for at least 3 minutes.
The coverage was short, probably 30 seconds worth, and it was demeaning towards Sarah in my opinion.
1) Gretchen stated that the reason Sarah didn't do a press conference like Christie was that there were actually people pressing Christie to run. Now, this implies that the regular people pushing for Sarah to run aren't real people like the ones pushing for Christie.
2) Whats his name made a remark about Sarah's "Title" statement.
I was really shocked.

I began to get worried about Palin after hoping for years when she did not announce by August and got scolded repeatedly for that. I also despised how her crew here butchered Bachmann and anyone else they thought might be in the way.
Then Palin drags it out to the end and quits with no real announcement...she sure as hell did not need to wait that long. It was a ridiculous show. She is over. Done. And to hell with her zot posse here.
The Greta interview after the McGinniss hit tells me something got to her. Her entire demeanor and enthusiasm went out the door. Like someone off balance.
That is my opinion. She got rattled and quit or declined...whatever makes folks happy and from a race that was lining up to be the best chance ever for a social conservative to win...and she didn't want that?
So now we have to anoint Romney unless untested Cain goes magical?

Folks like me who pay from my sole proprietorship businesses 100,000s of dollars in state and local taxes are not too keen to now take on a fixed 12-20% additional Federal Income Tax with no deductions
It would be a massive tax hike for me and I already pay a base of 17,000 a year in FICA alone as a double payer self employed person
Right now you are allowed to consider interest, depreciation and local taxes as business expenses

Sadly have to attest and agree. I get laughed at when I pine for the old days - when a standard was upheld to even enter into the discussion. One liners got you flamed - regardless of the subject matter. Some thought and logic was demanded by the community.
I was attracted to this board for that very reason. I saw it as an opportunity to hone my communication and thinking and to have my presuppositions and my conclusions challenged. I say challenged; not mindlessly attacked. The latter is all that way too many postings are these days.

Why? I never complained about the crowds or attention in the past....all I did was point out my perception of her chances, her qualifications, her record and my sense that she was stringing you guys along.

We do not know Sarah's thinking on this matter. Be sure she has a plan. She will continue to have a voice and make it known.

Republicans on the other hand splinter, compromise, and in general are all over the place with differing ideas. We do not unite as the democrats do. This serves to guarantee the democrat candidates win. Every time. Rare exception. As you stated our winners are usually liberal too.
We fail to learn, and continue to do the same things over and over expecting different results.
The tea party is good and as long as it is the conservative branch of the republican party it has the potential to be the power of it. But as a separate party it would insure a loss. God help us and God bless America.
