Today I read several intriguing stories Palin had floated the idea that it's not too late for someone to enter the GOP race. Read one on Drudge, and saw a couple right here. Suddenly I felt that old optimism return. And would like to mention something as an open suggestion, I did not hear in the speculation and obligatory "she's not running" comments:

Didn't the PDSers win? Why are they not happy? Sarah Palin isn't running --- that's what they wanted, for her not to run for President -well Mission Acomplish. Yet, the continued near hatered around here at just mentioning her name or an article focusing on her brings the same amount of bitterness against her by some here as though this was still in the middle of her 'One Nation' Bus tour this past Summer. Sarah isn't destroying the country like Obama and the Dems are doing right now. Sarah isn't joining hand with the Republican Establishment saying its ok with...

When people were attacking Sarah Palin and calling her damaged, unelectable, too polarizing..ect..I said that we needed to stand by Palin because the media will use the same type of attacks against other conservative candidates as long as they work. Look at the current crop of candidates, how does Sarah Palin look now ? The lesson to be learned here is that we need to fight and stop trying to appease the liberal media. Too many Republicans stopped supporting Sarah Palin so they could find a candidate that is more acceptable to the main stream media. Its very disturbing.

Since Sarah Palin announced that she was not going to run for president, there has been a certain degree of bitterness on the part of some FReepers. She was bilking us, some said, just trying to hawk her books. She has betrayed us, said others, she never wanted to run anyway. I admit that at first I was one of them. However, take a look at the attention Herman Cain suddenly been getting. These articles resulted from a quick google search and go back six days... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2048969/Did-Herman-Cain-999-tax-plan-SimCity-video-game.html 14th October 2011 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2048105/Republican-debate-Herman-Cain-hammered-GOP-candidates-999-tax-plan.html 12th October 2011 http://money.cnn.com/2011/10/11/news/economy/Herman_Cain_999_tax/index.htm 13th october 2011 http://joybehar.blogs.cnn.com/2011/10/10/harry-belafonte-blasts-herman-cain/ 10th...

For those who care to see Sarah Palin in the race for president, a closed group was started to work towards encouraging her to reconsider.

She should have taken those kids to a military Hospital so they could see those who decided that even though they also loved their children, they understood that their duty was to our nation and the millions of people who depend on them.... Sacrificing for the country is taking care of your kids......a leader goes places where others are not sure where to go.....and I hear in Sarah's voice in the Bob and Mark show how MUCH she wanted to run.... If Sarah had entered she would have gotten $50 million dollars the first day, or more..... Sarah should re-examine...

Why do you think Rush didn't bring up Palin's announcement that she's not running for president?
-
Just seems a bit odd that Mr. Limbaugh has not commented (unless I missed it) on Gov. Palin's decision.

I rolled out of bed ran down and got my cup of coffee and back up to bed to watch Fox and Friends, I thought for sure Sarah's announcement would come after the coverage of Steve Job's passing, but I kept waiting, and waiting, and waiting. I even began to doubt that what I had read about Sarah's not running last night was a fake. Finally, at 6:35 this morning, 35 minutes into the show spoke about Sarah's announcement. Mind you, this is after talking about today being national noodle day for at least 3 minutes. The coverage was short,...

The absolutely incredible and historic opportunity presented to you has now been squandered. Governor, what was the point? You accomplished great things (for which I thank you) after resigning but keep in mind that the reason for the support was that people believed you were going to run for President yourself. Do you honestly believe that people and supporters surfaced for any other reason? You allowed the 'illusion' to continue knowing full well you were not going to run.. Some people uprooted their lives and some, spent their savings because of the belief they had in you. You would have...

Yes--the leftist psychopaths, from Soros to Ayers and all the mind-numbed robots in their wake, have made a virtual martyr of Sarah Palin.

OK first off, sorry for two vanities in a row. But it's an unusual day. Just this one more: now everyone's all wound up from the big announcement...

God bless you, Sarah! You have elevated our principles, and put them center stage. Nobody else could have done this.

As I'm sure everyone not in a coma or beyond the orbit of Jupiter has heard by now, Sarah Palin announced on Oct. 5, 2011, on the Mark Levin radio show, that she is NOT running for President of the United States in 2012. This has created a wave of horrified disappointment among her supporters, and anything from euphoria to gloating among her detractors. In an effort to pull together against the common (liberal) enemy, I propose that all the partisans FOR Palin take a small portion of the money they had been saving for her campaign, and donate it...

Governor Sarah Palin mattered. She had gathered a terrific following and upset all of the right people. Conservatives loved her and liberals feared her. They were both right to do so. For the conservatives, she had the unique combination of being right on the issues with a national presence, political machine, steel spine, gumption, charm and a salt-of-the-Earth attitude which comes from being one of the people--rather than one of society's elites. She was a fierce independent who battled both parties and their corruption. In every battle she fought her way (and 2008 was not fought her way), she won....

Okay here me out on this.

Watching Palin, you know that when she does something, she only does it at 110% or more. And like most politicians, she doesn’t like to lose (see her 2008 night of the election – yeah, she was angry McCain wouldn’t let her speak, but I’m also sure deep down she was bitter over the fact that the American voters bought the whole “hope and changey” platitudes.) And obviously, she wants to fix that bitter taste from 2008. How she accomplishes that (runs, doesn’t run, etc) has been a matter of debate. The biggest hinderance you hear about Palin running for...

I have more to say, but for now: I do not believe this (her ultimate decision) was something she went back and forth over constantly in the past few months or years. I believe that not only did she leave the governorship of Alaska with 2012 and the US presidency in mind--but she left McCain's concession stage the night Barack Obama was elected in '08, with 2012 and the US Presidency in her sights. I believe there was careful strategy behind the timing of her book releases, their content, and the way they were written and the way they ended....
