Well, it depends upon what the goal of this action was.
If it was to follow guns and bust the gun runners, they failed.
If it was to add some artificial credence to their asinine assertion that the drug cartels got 90% of their guns from the U.S., they failed. It just took a while for the truth to out. Amazing this is from CBS.

The BATF mission was to curtail gun running. That's why they made sure that all of those illegal guns were walked over the border instead of run.
After all, running with a gun, just like running with scissors, is dangerous.

Why don’t police departments in all the major cities sell guns undercover to suspected traffickers to find out where the guns walk? That way they can get all the guns off the street once someone has been murdered!!! What a terrific idea!!!!
