'Obabies' abound in US maternity wards

In another sign of America's glee at the election of Barack Obama to the White House, newborns all over the United States are being named after the president-elect.

The maternity ward at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida -- a key battleground state in which Obama soundly beat his Republican rival John McCain -- proudly staked claim to bringing the first American baby Obama into the world.

"Sanjae Obama Fisher, baby boy, was born at 7:58 pm on election day," around three hours before Obama was declared the winner, a spokeswoman for the hospital said.

"Mom and Dad voted early in anticipation that their baby would arrive on election day, and Mom arrived at Memorial Regional Hospital at 6:30 am on Tuesday as the polls were opening," spokeswoman Marla Oxenhandler told AFP.

The couple had decided to name their baby in honor of Obama after their eight-year-old daughter said he -- the Democratic candidate, not her baby brother -- was inspirational, Oxenhandler said.

Around the United States, other maternity wards issued birth notices announcing newborns named Barack, Obama, Malia or Sasha after the president-elect's daughters, or Michelle, his wife.

Considering how deluded people are & the fact that Obama could not have won without White support: I am willing to bet a lot more than you might presume. There are a lot of ignorant White people supporting Obama as well.

Didn’t mean to imply that I believed the previous post.

I’m still a little rocky a week after the fact.

I wonder if there were any German baby boys in 1933 who were named Hitler.

I’m sure there were. Adolf as a first name probably became quite popular up to about 1945, as well.

I also wondered when I saw pictures of pitch-black boys dressed like hoodlums hanging around white college girls at the victory festival if many new barack obamas would be born nine months later...

Maybe this will ensure the long-sought after liberal dream of racial reconciliation, or at least the mixing of the peoples...

Is that a bad thing or a good thing, or does it maybe not matter if people keep its commitment to western civilization...or am I forgetting that these college girls have long since abandoned that...

Millions of parents voted as if they were eight years old. Amazing.

This is going to be real funny when Obama becomes as popular as Hitler.

I wonder how many kids were named Hitler when he was Germany’s Messiah?

I heard that absentee Military votes postmarked from in the field by Nov 4th would be counted up until November 15th.

Do you know anything about that?

I think someone made a stink about the democrats delaying sending out the ballots to the overseas Military until it was too late to get them back in time last election cycle.

I think that only 30% of them were counted last time.

Why not just call the kid "Messiah" or "the One" since everyone will know the reference?

These parents just want to ensure that their little tykes will be able to buy and sell.

It varies by state. My state (Texas) required that the ballot be received by 7:00 p.m. local time November 4.

But they took their sweet time getting it to me. I requested it through the military system in late August and didn't get it until October 20. I submitted a provisional ballot on October 13 because I wasn't sure if I'd ever get my local ballot. The rule is, your precinct is to keep the provisional ballot and then if your regular one shows up, they are to replace it with that.

Several people here from many states were having the same problem. What's weird is that the federal employees didn't seem to be having that problem - perhaps most of them are registered Democrats.

I have no idea if my vote was counted, though.

Why, thank you so much.

I thought it added a little something extra to the obvious question.

Does this make me a racist now? I thought not voting for Obama already gave me that distinction.

Now that Obie is president, and reparations have been made through Fannie and Freddie, we have all been absolved of the national sin that occurred hundreds of years before you and I were born, and was redeemed in the blood of our ancestors who gave their life for the cause.

So the quick answer.

Does this make me a racist now?

Depends if the Dems want to hit you(us) with it again.

Same thing happened after 9-11 — lots of children were named Osama after the attacks.

When I was a little girl, there was a family in the neighborhood that had five girls (and a couple of boys).

They were all named “Mary.”

Mary Margaret
Mary Augusta
Mary Therese
Mary Anne
and
Mary Ellen

Their parents called them all by their second names, unless, of course, they were in deep trouble. Then the dreaded “full name” was uttered. You always knew that All Was Lost when Mom called you by your whole name.

Also, my Uncle Joe had 12 kids (10 boys, 2 girls). The oldest was also named Joseph. All 10 boys had boys. All of them named their first sons Joseph. You DO NOT want to call “Joe!” at a family reunion; you’ll cause a stampede.

No Baracks in the family, though...or Obamas.

Regards,
