When I was a little girl, there was a family in the neighborhood that had five girls (and a couple of boys).

They were all named “Mary.”

Mary Margaret
Mary Augusta
Mary Therese
Mary Anne
and
Mary Ellen

Their parents called them all by their second names, unless, of course, they were in deep trouble. Then the dreaded “full name” was uttered. You always knew that All Was Lost when Mom called you by your whole name.

Also, my Uncle Joe had 12 kids (10 boys, 2 girls). The oldest was also named Joseph. All 10 boys had boys. All of them named their first sons Joseph. You DO NOT want to call “Joe!” at a family reunion; you’ll cause a stampede.

No Baracks in the family, though...or Obamas.

Regards,

My uncle and mom worked hard to get Berry Allen Goldwater elected when in high school and thought very highly of him. When I had my 2nd son I named him Sean "Allen". Goldwater's middle name for them. Sean Berry just did not flow.

Wouldn't it be funny if Berry Baracks name before he changed it was inspired by Berry Goldwater.

If you merely go with the social, or "cultural," stance of a Berry Goldwater, he was a liberal. But otherwise no! Could have fooled his mom.
