Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

I like to eat peanut butter cookies while lurking through your hurricane threads :)

I am rather partial to chocolate during those stormy days. Peanut butter chocolate cookies are a great idea! Will definitely try that.

If the choice in the general election is between Rudy and Hillary, ONE of the two WILL be President

And what are you doing now to make sure that doesn't happen?

...you guys want to be responsible for putting Hillary in office because you can’t lower yourself to vote for Giuliani...

Oh, I see. You are browbeating conservatives by telling them it will be THEIR fault that they didn't roll over and accept a leftist. That is hogwash! If we are left with such an unfortunate choice between Hillary and Rudy, it will be the fault of all of those who are not standing up TODAY to fight FOR one of the more conservative choices, to get the word out that Rudy is simply unacceptable, and to fight for a candidate that will motivate voters to get to the polls and vote FOR the things they believe in.

The writing is already on the wall--the GOP leadership needs to take note. If they push Rudy, we WILL have Hillary. Many of us will fight to make sure that doesn't happen. Will the GOP see the light or will they push us down the path to Hillary?

And you're dang right! I will not "lower myself to vote for Rudy" when his record clearly shows his lack of respect for the constitution. I believe it was JR who said earlier on this thread Rudy is a walking constitutional violation.

Note to RNC: Get new talking points. Go to Plan B NOW!

Just checking in and saw your response. You nailed it for me as well.

This liberal projection that somehow conservatives “would be held responsible for putting Hillary in office because you can’t lower yourself to vote for Giuliani” because the GOP chose to prop up a loser instead of a winner is just that - liberal projection.

No self-respecting conservative will vote for a liberal for president - even if he has an (R) after his name...

The Sons of Liberty always were a mob. A restrained one, but a mob.

There is no restraint to your taunts, EV. Worst of all, you invoke The Lord in your insults and thug tactics. More Christian behavior would never be expected from a hypocrite such as you.

Let's discuss history, O Holy One. Tell us, EV how did I respond to you when you publicly announced that you were stuck in St. Petersburg FL with no funds to get home?

Keep casting stones, hypocrite. Your glass castle is showing cracks.

Your post is insulting.

The lesser of two evils is still evil.

I had a liberal tell me that a few times. She refused to vote for the "lesser of two evils". I must admit that made me VERY happy since President Bush ended up in office and it was one less liberal voting for Kerry. In her own way, my liberal friend helped our cause.

I found a speech online that was given by a liberal professor. Yea, BARF. LOL He made a good point though, albeit from a liberal perspective. If we could change his words to the "right" (conservative Republicans) and replace his agenda with our conservative ones, the main point regarding the topic of "lesser of the two evils" is a good one.

-- Tony Kushner "A Word to Graduates: Organize!" Commencement Address, Vassar, 2002. The Nation July 1, 2002 http://www.thenation.com/docPrint.mhtml?i=20020701&s=kushner

You are always an agent. When you don't act, you act. When you don't vote, you vote. When you accept the loony logic of some of the left that there is no political value in supporting the lesser of two evils, you open the door to the greater evil. That's what happens when you despair, you open the door to evil, and evil is always happy to enter, sit down, abolish the Clean Air Act and the Kyoto accords and refuse to participate in the World Court or the ban on landmines; evil is happy refusing funds to American clinics overseas that counsel abortion, and evil is happy drilling for oil in Alaska; evil is happy pinching pennies while 40 million people worldwide suffer and perish from AIDS; and evil will sit there, carefully chewing pretzels and fondly flipping through the scrapbook reminiscing about the 152 people he executed when he was governor, while his wife reads Dostoyevsky in the corner. Evil has a brother in Florida and a whole bunch of relatives; evil settles in, and it's the devil of a time getting him to vacate. Look at the White House. Look at France, look at Italy, Austria, the Netherlands. Look at Israel. See what despair and inaction on the part of citizens produces. Act! Organize. It's boring but do it. The world ends if you don't.
